We’ve all been there. 😅

It’s hard enough to see your patterns clearly. Harder still to choose something different. Hardest yet to act consistently in a way that breaks the cycle.

Sometimes it takes a couple of tries, and sometimes it takes some direct hits from life to finally embrace the change.

Sometimes the best sessions happen when you don’t have anything you want to talk about. It opens up mental space for true reflection without the clouded emotions of everything else that has been going on in your life.

Has this happened you before? What are your thoughts on this?

A good life includes grief that shows up without warning or anxiety that doesn’t have a neat explanation. It can mean days where you feel disconnected from yourself for reasons you can’t think your way out of or immediately fix.

We don’t get to experience joy without also knowing what its absence feels like. We don’t get depth in love without the risk of loss.

So the real goal is being able to move through hard things and have gratitude for the rest, to hold the multiplicity of our experience without losing the plot.

That discomfort is not a detour from a meaningful life, but a necessary ingredient.

This is the space we hold, especially on International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.

LGBTQ+ identities are not theoretical discussions. They are lived experiences, and they deserve to be met with respect, safety, and care, not scrutiny.

Our work is grounded in understanding how harm shows up, how it impacts people, and how we support healing from it.

If you are LGBTQ+, you are welcome and safe here. ❤️

Chronic busyness can sometimes be a healthy coping mechanism. But it can also become a way to avoid unpleasant feelings and realizations.

If we keep moving from one task to the next, we never have to settle into what’s actually there. We never have to sit in the quiet long enough for thoughts, feelings, and truths to surface on their own.

And what emerges often comes in layers. That can feel scary. Powerless, even.

The truth is, what we avoid rarely disappears. More often, it waits. And when it finally surfaces, it tends to emerge through burnout, irritability, anxiety, exhaustion, or disconnection from ourselves.

Slowing down may feel harder in the moment, but it is often the very thing that allows us to move forward.

When you say you want a direct therapist... just know what that comes with🤪

In all seriousness, if you value directness, authentic conversations, and not beating around the bush you may feel uncomfortable or leave a session and not feel better in the moment. But the point of this open dialogue between you and your clinician is ultimately what helps create new patterns and push towards your goals.

If you’re in Colorado, California, or Florida and are looking for an honest and practical therapist, please message me and I’ll send you a link to book a free consultation.

A conversation worth having, especially in neurodivergent spaces:

Dependence on electronics is about more than simple discipline. It’s not an indictment of character. And it’s certainly unhelpful to attempt ditching your phone altogether.

Let’s try to understand how your attention actually works. Then we can use phones for healthy resets, when managed properly.

If you want the full breakdown, it’s in our blog!
Check out the link in our bio for more on building reasonable distraction into a productive workday.

If there’s one thing I can count on, it’s my meal of choice predictability. 🫣 Because I don’t lack variety, I lack tolerance for disappointment.
