Family and friends of Mountain View Memorial Park-Boulder.
As, as you are aware this year in Colorado has experienced one of the most severe snowpack shortages in recorded history. As of early April state wide water equivalent stands at 22% of normal- the lowest since 1941. This historic low, combined with warmer than average temperatures and ongoing drought conditions is significantly hindering our ability to water the cemetery grounds. In fact, as of this writing the State Water Commission has directed the “Farmers Ditch” where we get our water to shut down . The water commission has warned that operations may change throughout the season, turning flow back on and then shutting down again very quickly. We are doing everything we can, but the grass, trees and landscaping may look browner than in past years. While our grounds crew will continue with mowing operations, edging and essential maintenance to keep the grounds neat and respectful, the overall green appearance will be noticeably reduced. Please know that we are fully committed to honoring your loved ones with dignity and respect. We appreciate your understanding during this challenging time.
