Yep, “it works if you work it” but it’s more than just the physical choices we make in our sobriety journeys that determine what our lives free of addiction can look like.

It’s also the things that we allow to live in our minds and believe to be true.

No matter where you are in your recovery journey, the things that we tell ourselves about self have the ability to make or break us.

Stop and just smell the roses.

Filling our minds with affirmations - little reminders of the goodness within us and the opportunities ahead are so important to keep your head on straight in sobriety.

Especially at first.

Taking things one step further and surrounding yourself with others who understand you and believe in you can also make a world of difference.

If you’re looking for a community of people in addiction recovery who are choosing to live sober and still be their same goofy ass selves, we’re Romp, and we’re mighty glad you found us. ✌️🌈💙

Oh damn Zach Top wish I woulda known all I had to do was just “be a normal guy” all those years of cheating death.

Any more groundbreaking tips on addiction? 😂

Man, I don’t wish the darkness of addiction on literally anyone, but when people with 1 million + followers make statements like this it feels irresponsible and wildly ignorant.

Especially saying things like “next person who tells me they’re sober I just wanna hit em on the head” - what in the flyin fck man?

And Bert Kreischer I always thought you were funny as s**t dude, but goddamn, encouraging folks to start using again is a really bad look man.

Why do sober people p**s y’all off so much? 😂

Anyone else see the full clip on Bert’s pod?

13 years ago I was drinking over a liter of cheap vodka daily. Couldn’t function without liquor. Literally.

Was drunk and tuned up from the crack of the morning on. At work too. Sh*tfaced.

Was homeless. Lost a dozen different jobs because I didn’t show up. Woke up in the hospital. Woke up in detox. Woke up in the ditch. Woke up barreling down the highway in a ‘74 Winnebago to the hiss of a 60 pound nitrous tank tipped over and gassing out the whole RV on the highway…

All the crazy s**t I’ve done and seen in my life and leave it to a silly piece of wood, one that I’ve know since I was about 3 years old, to save me from guaranteed death.

That piece of wood and the community it gave me is why I’m building Romp.

Because only 13% of people struggling with addiction get help, so we’re here to help more people find their own version of skateboarding.

Addiction is human. You’re not “a freak” if you battle those demons - most of us do in some way other another.

The outcasts, the freaks, the weirdos, the hippies, the punks, the cowboys, the poets, the dancers, the pianists, the painters, the lumberjacks, the electricians, the hairdressers - we’re here for you, and we’re here to connect you to others who have stood in your shoes, or currently are.

Because 13% isn’t nearly enough. 💙❤️💛💚🩵💙
