👑 The Baroque King of Coins — Fire of Earth

The Baroque Tarot King of Coins gives us an almost opposite image.

Here sits a magnificent king upon a granite throne, surrounded by fertile vegetation.

He extends a great golden coin, suggesting generosity, prosperity, stewardship, and the controlled circulation of material resources.

In his left hand he holds a large scepter crowned with a golden winged eagle.

Above him fly numerous butterflies.

This is not merely a wealthy man.

He is an image of matter brought under intelligent government.

Where the Knight of Wands asks:

“What can I ignite?”

The King of Coins asks:

“What can I make sustainable?”

The first initiates.

The second consolidates.

The Knight may start the company on Tuesday.

The King of Coins is still running it twenty years later...To continue comparisons blog log onto elitarotstrickingly.com and scroll to blog page. Thank you for your interest, comments, and free subscriptions. May you live long and prosper.

🌊 Ocean Tarot — Knight of Coral

The Ocean Tarot Knight of Coral reimagines this fiery archetype within an aquatic world.

An imposing Merman warrior rises toward the surface wearing remnants of seaweed like natural armor.

He carries a massive trident of Coral, while behind him ascends an enormous manta ray whose wings appear almost inseparable from his own body.

The visual paradox is immediately striking:

Fire has entered Water.

Coral corresponds to Wands and therefore to Fire, yet the Knight operates within the Ocean — the realm symbolically associated with emotion, unconsciousness, intuition, memory, and psychic depth.

This makes the Ocean Knight especially valuable from a metaphysical and parapsychological perspective.

He represents Fiery Will emerging from the unconscious...To continue comparisons blog, log onto elitarot2strikingly.com and scroll to blog page. Thank you for your interest, comments, and free subscriptions. May you live long and prosper.

The Baroque Tarot Queen of Coins

The Baroque Tarot Queen of Coins presents the Earth-Mother archetype in a more immediately recognizable human form.

She appears as a mature Baroque Queen seated upon a throne of compacted Earth surrounded by luxuriant vegetation.

Behind her stretches a star-filled night sky, suggesting that although she belongs to the material world, her sovereignty remains connected with the heavens.

Again:

As Above, so Below.

Her right hand cradles an enormous golden Coin, practically the size of a dinner plate.

There is no uncertainty about which suit we are in.

Apparently subtlety had the evening off.

Yet this exaggeration reinforces an important message:

Matter must be held consciously.

She does not clutch the Coin anxiously.

She supports it.

Money, resources, health, home, and physical security are placed within her care...To continue comparisons blog, log onto elitarotstrickingly.com and scroll to blog page. Thank you for your interest, comments, and free subscriptions. May you live long and prosper.

🌊 Ocean Tarot Page of Coral — The Flame Beneath the Waters

The Ocean Tarot Page of Coral offers a beautiful counter-image.

Here the fiery Wand has been translated into Coral.

A young merman holds a salmon-pink coral fan high above himself while swimming toward the bright, sunlit surface. His eyes remain fixed upon his discovery, and his expression suggests delight, curiosity, and inspiration.

The symbolism is wonderfully paradoxical.

Fire has awakened beneath Water.

That makes the Ocean Page particularly interesting from a psychic and metaphysical perspective.

The RWS Page stands in a desert beneath the open sky.

The Ocean Page begins submerged in the unconscious and rises toward illumination.

What the Rider–Waite–Smith Page seems ready to proclaim, the Ocean Page has apparently just discovered.

The Coral becomes the physical object around which imagination organizes itself.

An idea has appeared.

A possibility has taken form.

Something within the depths says:

“What if…?”

And there begins nearly every human invention—and, admittedly, several disasters involving duct tape...To continue blog comparisons, log onto elitarot2strikingly.com and scroll to blog page. Thank you for your interest, comments, and free subscriptions. May you live long and prosper.

The Baroque Tarot Knight of Coins

The Baroque Tarot Knight of Coins presents the same archetype in a more mundane and socially recognizable form.

A richly dressed gentleman rides his horse while holding a large golden Coin to his left side. A brilliant golden Sun dominates the sky, while an ancient citadel stands behind him.

The imagery speaks of:

Material responsibility
Security
Established structures
Deliberate progress
Practical ambition
Wealth properly managed
Reliable action

The citadel represents what has already been built.

The Coin represents what is being managed.

The horse represents movement.

And the Sun illuminates the entire undertaking with purpose.

Unlike a charging Knight of Swords, this horseman is in no particular hurry to arrive somewhere incorrectly... To continue blog comparisons, log onto elitarotstrickingly.com and scroll to blog page. Thank you for your interest, commetns, and free subscriptions. May you live long and prosper.

🌊 Ocean Tarot — Ten of Coral

The Ocean Tarot Ten of Coral beautifully preserves the theme of accumulated burden while translating Fire into the language of the sea.

A mermaid swims away from the viewer through deep water while carrying a massive fan of coral considerably larger than her upper body.

The imagery creates an immediate impression of strain.

She is still moving—but movement has become difficult.

The blue waters above her suggest a possible region of greater illumination or freedom, while the darker ocean surrounding her emphasizes depth, pressure, subconscious weight, and the difficulty of her present journey.

Around her swims a school of fish.

Fish traditionally suggest instinct, psychic movement, fertility, subconscious contents, and the living currents of the collective unconscious.

The mermaid therefore carries her burden not through empty space but through a living psychic environment.

Metaphysically, this may suggest...To continue comparisons blog log onto elitarot2strikingly.com and scroll to blog page. Thank you for your interest, comments, and free subscriptions. May you live long and prosper.

Baroque Tarot — Page of Coins

The Baroque Tarot Page of Coins expresses this same elemental mystery in a simpler, more human form.

A young Page stands in a lush garden holding a large golden Coin with both hands. He gazes upon it with deep concentration, almost as though the Coin were a map whose symbols he is trying to decipher.

This is the moment when possibility begins to crystallize into a plan.

The Page represents:

study,
curiosity,
practical education,
new employment,
apprenticeship,
craftsmanship,
financial opportunity,
reflection,
goal-setting,
and the beginning of a material venture.

Where the Thoth Princess shows the cosmic womb of manifestation, the Baroque Page shows the young human being learning what to do with the seed.

One is archetypal Earth.

The other is Earth opening a notebook...To continue comparisons blog, log onto elitarotstrickingly.com and scroll to blog page. Thank you for your interest, comments, and free subscriptions. May you live long and prosper.

The Nine of Coral in the Ocean Tarot presents the same essential archetype as the Rider–Waite–Smith Nine of Wands, but it expresses that archetype through the language of water, instinct, psychic sensitivity, and embodied feminine strength.

The mermaid stands between tall coral wands, gripping a large coral staff firmly in both hands. Her posture is defensive rather than aggressive. She is not charging forward; she is holding a boundary. This makes the card an image of endurance, vigilance, and controlled strength. She has chosen her ground and intends to keep it.

The surrounding coral forms a kind of natural palisade or protective enclosure. Coral is especially appropriate here because it is both beautiful and structurally strong. It grows slowly, layer upon layer, just as psychological resilience is built through repeated experience. What looks delicate from a distance can become a formidable reef. Symbolically, this says: your defenses were built from what you survived.

Her two-handed grip is important. One hand alone might suggest casual control; two hands indicate complete attention and commitment. She is fully engaged with the situation. Nothing about her stance is careless. The card therefore speaks of concentration, preparedness, and the refusal to waste energy.

The fact that she stands partly in shadow while brighter seas lie behind her creates a powerful psychological contrast. She occupies the threshold between past difficulty and future possibility. The darkness represents accumulated fear, memory, fatigue, and the subconscious expectation that another challenge may come. The sunlight behind her suggests that success, healing, or release is already near.

This is one of the central mysteries of the Nine: the querent may be closer to success than they realize, but exhaustion makes the remaining distance seem much greater than it is...To continue comparisons blog, log onto elitarot2strikingly.com and scroll to blog page. The Baroque Tarot — Ten of Coins

The Baroque Tarot Ten of Coins approaches the same mystery from a more human and historical direction.

An elderly gentleman sits beneath a stone arch studying a book. Above him, ten golden coins are incorporated into the architecture.

The symbolism is excellent.

The coins are not scattered around him as disposable currency.

They are built into the structure.

Wealth has become foundation.

Yet the old gentleman is studying, suggesting that his inheritance is not merely financial.

His true treasure includes:

education,
accumulated wisdom,
culture,
memory,
experience,
social standing,
family inheritance,
and intellectual development.

The sunny cityscape and distant figures extend this wealth beyond the solitary individual into family, civilization, and community.

The Baroque card therefore says:

What you know may be as valuable as what you own.

Material inheritance eventually disappears if wisdom is not transmitted with it.

Knowledge is the invisible estate...To continue comparisons blog, log onto elitarotstrickingly.com and scroll to blog page. Thank you for your interest, comments, and free subscriptions. May you live long and prosper.

🌊 Ocean Tarot — Eight of Coral

The Ocean Tarot Eight of Coral translates this fiery principle beautifully into the language of the sea.

A mermaid swims so rapidly that a trail of effervescent bubbles streams behind her. Around her spreads a magnificent fan of salmon-pink coral, while colorful fish appear to join the swift play.

Although Water surrounds the scene, Coral corresponds to Wands and therefore Fire.

This creates a wonderful elemental paradox:

Fire moving through Water.

Spirit moving through psyche.

Will moving through emotion.

Inspiration moving through the subconscious.

The mermaid does not struggle against the current.

She moves with it.

This is an important distinction.

True Swiftness is not frantic activity.

It is alignment.

When consciousness, emotion, imagination, and Will point in the same direction, extraordinary movement becomes possible with surprisingly little resistance.

The bubbles become almost Mercurial—tiny signals marking the path of rapid transmission.

The fish reinforce movement, vitality, companionship, and the living current of the subconscious.

Thus, the Eight of Coral declares:

The current has changed in your favor. Swim...To continue comparisons blog, log onto elitarot2strikingly.com and scroll to blog page. Thank you for your interest, comments, and free subscriptions. May you live long and prosper.
