A little mountain air was just what we needed! 🌲☀️

We recently headed up to Millcreek Canyon for a picnic and a welcome break from the summer heat. With cool mountain air, good food, plenty of shade, and great company, it was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.

And of course, our straw hats and umbrellas provided a little extra sun protection (and made for some pretty adorable photos along the way). 👒😊

We love finding ways to get out, enjoy the beautiful surroundings, and make the most of summer at Legacy House of Bountiful.

Our residents recently enjoyed a fascinating journey to Rwanda, without ever leaving Legacy House of Bountiful! 🇷🇼

Marketing Assistant Tera Blackham shared stories and experiences from her visit to Rwanda, offering a glimpse into the country's rich history, vibrant culture, and daily life. Residents viewed traditional clothing, handcrafted carvings, safari wildlife, and learned about village life, including cooking, carrying water, community development, and the beautiful handmade goods created by local artisans.

We were also delighted to welcome Tera's mother, Vivian, who lived in Rwanda and shared her own experiences while answering residents' thoughtful questions about the country's people and culture.

The presentation included Rwandan music, photographs, and authentic handcrafted items, giving everyone an opportunity to experience Rwanda in a meaningful way. Afterward, residents enjoyed taking a closer look at the handmade treasures and learning more about the craftsmanship behind each piece.

A heartfelt thank you to Tera and Vivian for sharing their knowledge, experiences, and love for Rwanda with our community. We always enjoy opportunities to learn about the world and the people who call it home.

One of our talented residents recently crocheted this beautiful blessing dress as a gift for the newborn granddaughter of her dear friend, who also lives here at Legacy House of Bountiful. Every stitch was made with love, and the gift was received with so much gratitude.

We are happy to highlight Rachel Guggisberg, who has been a valued member of the Legacy House of Bountiful team for nearly four years.

Rachel is one of our exceptional Med Techs and CNAs on the night shift and consistently goes above and beyond to care for our residents. She brings compassion, patience, and professionalism to every shift, helping ensure our residents are safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the night.

Rachel's attention to detail, thoughtful approach, and genuine love for those she serves make a meaningful difference every single day. She is always willing to go the extra mile, and her dedication does not go unnoticed.

Pioneer Day was filled with sweet treats, laughter, and meaningful traditions at Legacy House of Bountiful!

Our team baked homemade apple cobbler in cast iron pans, served warm with a scoop of cold ice cream, a delicious combination that was enjoyed by residents and associates alike. While the cobbler baked outside, everyone gathered indoors for an afternoon of games and music. We sang Come, Come, Ye Saints in honor of the pioneers who found strength in that beloved song during their journey to the Salt Lake Valley in 1847, and enjoyed a lively game of Pioneer Pictionary featuring words and objects familiar to life on the frontier.

It was a wonderful way to celebrate Pioneer Day together, and we're so grateful to our Activities team for creating such a fun and memorable holiday for everyone.
