Team Orange and Team Purple brought their Halloween spirit for a fun filled game of friendly competition with our residents! From smiles and laughter to some impressive moves, everyone got in on the excitement! 🧡💜

Meet Victoria Mullins, LBSW – Social Services Director at Avir at Bowie! 🏡❤️

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on someone who brings compassion, dedication, and a whole lot of heart to our residents and their families!

Victoria has been part of our Avir at Bowie family for 4 years and 9 months and brings 7 years of experience in her field. She is a Licensed Bachelor of Social Work (LBSW) and a proud graduate of Midwestern State University! 🎓

❤️ What does Victoria love most about her job?

Helping residents and their families navigate life’s obstacles and rejoicing alongside them through their victories! For Victoria, it’s about more than just a job. It’s about the relationships, the family atmosphere, and the opportunity to make a difference every single day.

🌸 A Little About Victoria!

She’s a proud mom of 4 and grandmother of 1!
She was born in Philadelphia and moved to Texas when she was just 5 years old!
Outside of work, she enjoys riding side-by-sides and spending quality time with family.
Her favorite food is Dos Chiles! 🌮
She enjoys Grey’s Anatomy and Christian music. 🎶

💬 One word her coworkers would use to describe her?

PASSIONATE! ❤️

When asked what advice she would give residents and families, Victoria shared something that truly reflects her heart for social services:

“Don’t be afraid to ask for help! That’s what we are here for!” 💕

🎉💗 Management Spotlight: Angie Mayfield, LVN 💗🎉

This week’s Management Spotlight is extra special! In honor of her birthday, we’re shining the spotlight on someone who has one of the BIGGEST hearts at Avir at Bowie, our very own Angie Mayfield! 🥳❤️

Angie serves as our Social Services LVN Assistant, bringing an incredible 36 years of healthcare experience to the table, including 6 years with our Avir at Bowie family!

If you know Angie, you know she is someone who goes above and beyond for EVERYONE! Whether it’s our residents, their families, or her coworkers, Angie is always looking for ways to help, give, and make someone’s day a little brighter. She has a true servant’s heart, and caring for others isn’t just her job. It’s who she is! 💕

When asked what she enjoys most about her job, Angie’s answer was simple: spending time with our residents. She also shared that the positive impact our residents have made on her life is one of her favorite parts of working here. ❤️

Outside of work, Angie loves spending time with her family, including her four children and eight grandchildren! She enjoys worship music, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and a good Texas Roadhouse salad! 🥗

Here’s a fun fact you may not know: Angie makes a pretty amazing chocolate chip cookie! 🍪 And the one word she chose to describe herself? Determined! We couldn’t agree more!

Angie shared a piece of advice that perfectly reflects the way she lives and cares for others:

And Angie, you make a BIG impact every single day! Your generosity, compassion, willingness to give, and genuine love for your people never go unnoticed. October movie time at Avir at Bowie called for Beetlejuice, fresh popcorn, and adorable Halloween Oreos, all chosen by our residents to help set the mood for the season.

It was the perfect combination of a classic spooky favorite, tasty treats, and time spent relaxing together.
