On the morning of August 11, 2026, Treva Jo Fitts, 90, transitioned into the embrace of her Savior to dance with abandon on the streets of heaven. She was a beloved wife, mother, Nonnie, sister, and friend. Although she had spent the majority of her life in the Bowie, Texas area, she had lived in Decatur, Texas for the past eleven years.
Born on November 24, 1935, in the Post Oak, Texas area, she would later meet and marry Paul Fitts on April 4, 1958. Treva was preceded in death by her father and mother, Orville and Gladys Leek; her husband, Paul Fitts; her son-in-law, Billy Rutherford; and her grandson, Kaleb Rutherford.
Treva was a longtime employee of the First National Bank of Bowie. She was an amazing cook and loved reading. For years, she displayed her natural creativity by fashioning furniture and other items out of wood. And, oh, the joy Treva and Paul had traveling in their RV and playing train dominoes with the friends they made along the way!
Her greatest desire was to be joined in heaven by each of her dear ones that she leaves behind: her brother, Allen Leek; her sister, JoAnn Bateman; her daughters, Debra Denson (David) and Paula Rutherford; her son, Barry Fitts (Wendy); her much loved grandchildren: Kasey (Shannon), Betsy (Roy), Kristan (Chris), Tyler, and Paula-Beth (Michael); and fifteen great grandchildren: Selah, Karis, Kempsey, Jaycee, Rickee, Davee, CJ, Kase, Karson, Kennan, Karter, Lucy, Gabriel, Annie, and Evangeline.
While we grieve her passing, we know that she has never been more alive than she is now! No service is planned, but our lives will be daily lived in celebration of her…

Cecilia Kelly, 88, of Brooklyn, New York passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2026 in Bowie, TX.

Cecilia was born August 22, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York to Thomas and Alice Roach. She married the love of her life, Terence Joseph Kelly, on September 15, 1956 in New York. Her life was dedicated to her family and hard work.

She worked for many years at The Sacred Heart Church in New York. She was always a woman of great faith.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings and her beloved husband Terence. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen and son-in-law Gregory. She is also survived by her daughters Patricia Laquidara and Mary Abela. Cecilia leaves a legacy of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cecilia lived most of her life in New York. She enjoyed the company of her countless friends and family members. She exhibited tremendous strength in leaving her life-long home in New York and moving to Bowie, Texas in early 2020. She enjoyed meeting new people. She loved being in her backyard gardening and observing her much-loved cardinals and other birds.

Though our hearts are deeply saddened by her passing, we are assured of the promises of eternal life. Cecilia cherished her family and touched countless lives.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be buried in the place she called home for her final season of life. Private chapel and graveside services will take place for the immediate family.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for all of the prayers, love and support during this difficult time.

Edwin Herman Kleinhans, 91, of Bowie, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026.

Visitation will take place on Friday, July 24th, from 6-8 pm at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie, Texas.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25th, at Saint Peter Lutheran Church.

Burial will follow at Salona Cemetery.

Edwin was born on June 19,1935, to Alfred and Bobbette Kleinhans. He spent his entire life in Bowie, where he became a farmer and rancher in the Salona area. Edwin was a 1953 graduate of Bowie High School. He dedicated his life to his family, his faith and the Salona Community he loved.

On July 24, 1954, Edwin married the love of his life, Alta Jo St.John Kleinhans. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to love, faith and commitment. They shared nearly 72 years together, falling just two days shy of celebrating their 72nd anniversary.

Edwin devoted his life to farming and ranching in the Salona community, caring on a tradition of hard work, stewardship, and service. He proudly served his country for 10 years in the National Guard. His commitment to serving others continued throughout his life, including 30 years on the Board of Directors of the Wise Electric Cooperative.

He was a member of the Bowie Rural Volunteer Fire Department, where he also served on the board. He served on Montague County FCA Committee. He was a member of the Montague County Farm Bureau.

A faithful member of Saint Peter Lutherans Church in Bowie, Edwin lived his faith through his dedication to his church and community. Above all else Edwin was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished "PawPaw". His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and watching generations grow. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, integrity, hard work and unconditional love that will continue through those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sibling Francis Aguilar and husband Pete.

Edwin is survived by his wife and children, Brenda Jones and husband Marvin from Bowie, David Kleinhans and wife Rhoda from Bowie, Cynthia Mayes and husband Randy from Flower Mound and Lisa Lawson from Vashti. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Phillip Lawson.

He is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Though our hearts are deeply saddened we are assured of the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Edwin's legacy will live on in the land he cared for, the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched through his kindness, service and steadfast example.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice or Saint Peter Lutheran Church.

Patricia “Pat” Louise (Puckett) Maughan, 82, of Bowie, Texas, passed away on July 20, 2026 in Denton, Texas.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 26th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.

A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, July 27th, at Rosston Cemetery in Rosston, Texas.

Pat was born February 26, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas, to Warren Albert and Myrtle (VanCamp) Puckett. She married George Albert Maughan on August 6, 1961, in Valley View, Texas. Her life was one dedicated to hard work and her family.

She worked throughout her life in several roles, including as a waitress on her family’s café, and a seamstress for Linda Jo/JA Mark Shoe Factory. In 1984, she began working at Bowie Memorial Hospital as an aide. She later advanced to sterile supply technician in surgery and ended her career as Central Supply Clerk, where she was over shipping and receiving. Pat retired from the hospital in 2014.

Pat’s love of crocheting, puzzles, reading, white roses, and doves, reflect her patience, creativity, and her love of the simple things in life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband, George Maughan; Sister, Marilyn Puckett Hohen; and brother, Kenneth Puckett.

Pat is survived by her son, Harold Maughan and wife Jinna of Rosston, TX; and her daughter, Carol Fleitman and husband Melvin of Saint Jo, TX.

Lovingly known as “Grandma Bowie”, Pat is also survived by her grandchildren, Eric Fleitman and wife Gena of Callisburg, TX; Amber Fleitman Mosman and husband John of Lindsay, TX; and Monina Louise Maughan of Rosston. As well as her great-grandchildren, Landon, Luke, and Logan Mosman of Lindsay.

Joy Dean Duncan, 75, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, July 17, 2026.
Family will receive friends on July 22nd, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie, TX from 6-8pm.
Private graveside services will take place for immediate family.
Joy was born November 4, 1950, in Nocona, TX to Newell and Flora (Ice) Dean of Saint Jo, Texas. She graduated from Saint Jo High School in 1968 and went to East Texas State University in Commerce, TX. Joy graduated with a degree in Education and later received a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Eastern University in Tyler, TX in 1975.
For more than 40 years, Joy devoted her life to education, touching the lives of countless children as a dedicated and compassionate teacher. She believed every child deserved the opportunity to succeed. The impact she made extended far beyond academics, as she inspired generations of children to believe in themselves.
As much as Joy loved teaching, her greatest pride was being a mother. She shared an incredibly close and cherished bond with her only child, Julie. One built on unwavering love, friendship, and countless treasured memories. Whether they were taking mother-daughter trips, enjoying brunches, shopping adventures or simply spending time surrounded by family, those moments brought her immense happiness. She was her daughter’s biggest supporter, fiercest protector and most trusted confidante.
Being “Mimi” to her only granddaughter, Karli, was also one of Joy’s greatest blessings. The bond between them was something special. Saturday nights were reserved for movie nights filled with laughter and making memories. They shared a special relationship, and Karli could always get a good laugh out of her Mimi.
The love she poured into her family and friends will remain one of her beautiful legacies, forever living in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter Julie Kirkland and husband Ryan and granddaughter Karli of New Braunfels, TX.

Jimmie Charles Robertson, 84 of Forestburg, TX passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026, in Nocona, TX.
A memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28th at the Montague County Cowboy Church with Pastor Joe Caballero officiating.
Jimmie was born October 1, 1941, in Nocona, TX to Walter Lee and Syble Bernice (Hanson) Robertson. He graduated from Birdville High School in North Richland Hills, TX. On June 18, 1960, Jimmie married Edna “Louise” Helms in Haltom City. He had a lifelong career and an assembler with General Motors, until his retirement. Jimmie was a member of the Montague County Cowboy Church, the Forestburg Masonic Lodge #523 and a longtime Shriner. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with Louise and was somewhat of an amateur gunsmith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Louise Robertson, sister Patricia Gayle Robertson, brother Ronnie Lee Robertson, and grandsons, Andrew Harpstrite and Cheyene Robertson.
Jimmie is survived by his children, Connie Cozby of Rhome, TX, Eddie Robertson and wife Kathryn of Forestburg, TX, and Carmen Warner and husband Bob of Bowie, TX; grandchildren, Ashley Scott and husband Landon, Dylan Robertson and wife Lea, Kristina Robertson, David Harpstrite, Christopher Warner and wife Aubrey and Kevin Warner and wife Klarissa; numerous great-grandchildren; and several numerous nieces and nephews.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kimberly Roland Wells, who departed this life on July 9, 2026, at the age of 64, at her home in Decatur, Texas.

Born on July 28, 1961, in Fort Worth, Texas, Kimberly lived a life defined by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved. She dedicated much of her career to caring for others in the medical field, where her kindness, professionalism, and dedication earned the admiration and respect of both her colleagues and the many lives she touched.

Kimberly is lovingly remembered by her three siblings, Tommy Roland, Diane Black, and Niki Carson; her two children, Maranda Llewellyn and Malcom Wells and his wife, Kayla; and her three cherished grandchildren, Preston, Liam, and Harley. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Don and Patsy Roland.

Outside of her career, Kimberly found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time in the sunshine, expressing her creativity through a variety of crafts, nurturing her home garden and loved animals. Her strength, independence, and unwavering love for her children were the foundation of her life and will remain an enduring source of comfort and inspiration to those who knew her.

In accordance with Kimberly’s wishes, she will be cremated, and no memorial or funeral services will be held.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love, prayers, support, and friendship during this difficult time.

Though Kimberly will be deeply missed, her love, generous heart, creative spirit, and the countless memories she leaves behind will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Our Beautiful Mama, Peggy Tucker got her angel wings on June 30, 2026

A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on July 24th, at Hopewell Cemetery in Stoneburg, Texas.

She was born May 15, 1938 in Ryan Oklahoma to Letha Graham and Reese Harrison.

Peggy loved Jesus with all her heart. She had a great love for her children. She loved to crochet, play he piano. She was the best mama to all us kids. Mama will be truly missed. She would always say “call me when you get home so I know you’re OK”. She loved to play dominos. She always had that pretty smile on her face. She worked at Russell Newmans for many years in Saint Jo, Texas, she also worked at Hager Slacks Co. In Bowie, Texas, then she and her daughter went to school for childcare, she took care of many children here in Bowie Texas, she loved them with all of her heart.

Peggy was married to Harold Tucker (Pops) of Bowie, Texas, she loved him with all of her heart. Pops was a dad to us all, but Jesus called him home on October 10, 2021. Peggy had six children from her first marriage to Winford Woods. Sherry and Brad Sims of Bowie, TX, Wayne and Patti Wood of Nocona, TX, Eugene Wood of Bowie, TX, Penny and John Shoefstall of Bowie, TX, Ronnie Woods, and Becky Sanders. Five Stepchildren, Beck and Burl Butler, Stanley and Charlene Tucker, Ramina Scott, Stuart Tucker, and Steven Tucker. 2 sisters Betty Tucker, Peggy’s twin, and Jean Green. One brother Doug and Carol Harrison. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. Many friends. Mama and pops always told us kids to walk with God and God would walk with us for we walk by faith and not by sight. This is not Goodbye Mama, its see you in a little while. This is from all us kids we love you, mama.

BOWIE - Peggy “Ann” Moorehead 92, died July 7, 2026 in Bowie.
Ann was born April 20, 1934 to Robert Lewis Orr and Annie McKinzie in Electra, Texas.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, brother Howard Orr, daughter Sherry Wheeler, and son Joe Wheeler.
Ann will have a grave side service at a later date.
She is survived by sons Mark Wheeler and wife Cindy; Mike Wheeler and wife Kerry; 5 grandchildren; one great grandchild and two nephews.
Ann graduated Bowie High School in 1952 as Valedictorian of her class.
She was a proud member of the First Baptist Church. Ann had a kind heart and will be missed.

Steven Douglas Drury
February 9, 1968 – July 4, 2026

Steven Douglas Drury passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2026, in Bowie, Texas.

Steve was a husband, father, grandfather, entrepreneur, and a man who never met a stranger. He had an undeniable charm and a rare ability to talk to anyone about just about anything. Whether it was a longtime friend, a customer, or someone he had only just met, Steve had a way of making people feel like they had known him forever. He was so easy to be around.

Above everything else, Steve loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Christina Drury; his four children, Sydney, Ben, Bailey and Josie; and his six grandchildren: Jasper, Ellie, Oliver, Alro, Oakley and Isla, who knew and loved him simply as “Pops.” He is also survived by his parents, Don and Lois Drury, and his brothers, David, Danny, and Christopher. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Biskit, who was rarely far from his side.

He was proud of the life and business he built. Through years of hard work, determination, and an entrepreneurial spirit, Steve created his business Drill Rig Depot—an accomplishment that reflected so much of who he was.

Steve was happiest by the lake, especially at sunrise or sunset. He loved football, was a devoted LSU Tigers fan, and could always be counted on to bring his larger-than-life personality, quick wit, and unmistakable charm wherever he went.

Steve will be deeply missed by his family and by the many people whose lives he touched. His stories, his humor, and the way he could fill a room will not soon be forgotten.

A private celebration of life will be held for family on Friday, July 10th, 2026.
