C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. respectfully announces the passing of Mr. Elvis Randolph Ferguson, affectionately known as “Boe” or “Ferg,” who departed this life on May 28, 2026, at the age of 68.
Mr. Ferguson was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He dedicated 40 years of service to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), retiring as Superintendent after faithfully serving the Ladysmith and Bowling Green Headquarters. Known for his love of the outdoors, Boe found joy in simple pleasures—feeding birds, fishing, tending to his yard, and caring for his flowers.
A man of deep faith, he devoted his life to Jehovah and served as an elder for many years, cherishing his spiritual family and the fellowship he experienced through congregations, assemblies, and conventions.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Virginia Ferguson; his children, Demarcus Ferguson (Ruby), Marion Ferguson, and Shakeila Ferguson; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Lorenzo Ferguson, Shirley Mae (Jerry), Patricia Parker (PeeWee), and June Turner (Jamie); along with a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Mr. Ferguson will be remembered for his kind, peaceful, and generous spirit. His favorite scripture, Proverbs 17:17, reminds us: “A true friend shows love at all times and is a brother who was born for times of distress.”
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc., 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia.
Please keep the Ferguson family in your thoughts and prayers during this time
