✨ Incoming MSW Intern! ✨

We’re excited to welcome Shea to the Kindred Minds team beginning August 24th!

Shea is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at Western Kentucky University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. As an autistic woman, Shea brings both lived experience and a strong passion for supporting neurodivergent and disabled individuals.

Shea is especially interested in working with neurodivergent individuals, children, and families, including folks with neurological, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. She is passionate about helping people better understand themselves, build independence in ways that are meaningful to them, and have more choice and control in their own lives.

In working with Shea, you can expect:
• A warm, patient, and nonjudgmental environment
• Honest and open communication
• Neurodiversity-affirming and strengths-based support
• Respect for each person’s identity, preferences, and autonomy
• Space to explore who you are and what you want your life to look like

For Shea, this work is deeply connected to her values. She hopes to contribute to a world where disabled people are not dismissed or spoken over, but instead have the support and autonomy to build lives that feel like their own.

As an intern, Shea will be working under clinical supervision while building experience across different areas of the practice. We’re looking forward to having her perspective, curiosity, and passion for disability advocacy as part of our little Kindred Minds community.

Parents aren't meant to carry the weight of navigating systems, advocating at every turn, and figuring everything out alone.

Our Parenting Support Group is a space to explore neurodiversity through a strengths-based lens, learn practical strategies, challenge unhelpful narratives, and connect with other caregivers who understand the journey.

Because supporting your child starts with supporting you. 🫶
