Southwest Healthcare Services would like to thank the SWHS Auxiliary for the donation they made so we could purchase a special piece of equipment to ease lifting patients from bed to bed. The HoverMatt is an inflatable-like air mattress that is placed under a patient to help our providers while also making the patient more comfortable during a bed movement. Thank you for your donation!

Staying Connected as Seasons Change

August often brings a shift in routines as summer winds down and families prepare for a new season. For older adults, these changes can sometimes bring feelings of loneliness, sadness, or uncertainty.

Staying connected with others can support emotional well-being. A phone call, a visit with a friend, a community activity, or a supportive group setting can help older adults feel seen and encouraged.

When feelings of depression, anxiety, grief, or isolation begin to affect daily life, additional support may help.

Southwest Healthcare’s Senior Life Solutions offers outpatient mental health services designed for older adults. Through group therapy, individual therapy, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management, participants can receive care in a supportive environment while continuing to live at home.

OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM has gone through some exciting changes this summer!

Allison Pretzer | In June Allison took over as our Chief Financial Officer! She is a Scranton native, and brings a wealth of knowledge to the position!

Ruth Dantis | Ruth was hired on as our new Director of Nursing! She comes from Chicago, has decades of nursing experience, and loves fishing!

Amanda Sandefer | Amanda came to us from Dickinson, although she's originally a Texas native! She has extensive human resource experience through her work in the oil industry and now brings that to the health care industry!

It has been great having them in these roles and we see great things on the horizon for them and for Southwest Healthcare Services!
