One of my professors used to say "kids don't care how much you know until they know how much you care". And I think about that a lot ❤️ Connection and regulation before expectation!

We can debate curriculum, screen time, standards, all of it. But none of it matters if a kid doesn't feel liked by the adult teaching them.

Rita Pierson said this in her TED talk and it's stuck with early childhood educators ever since, because it's true at every age — but it's foundational at this one.

A three-year-old doesn't care about your lesson plan. They care whether you're glad they're there.

Relationship isn't the soft part of the job. It's the whole job.

7 weeks of hard work, grit, and massive progress! 💥

Just 7 weeks ago, maintaining stability required extra support from the HippoHelper (a dense foam body support). Fast forward to today: he’s upright, supported by just his gait belt, and actively pushing down through his hands! 👏✨

Every detail in this session serves a purpose. Here’s a look at what we’re building behind the scenes:
💪 Upper Body Weight Bearing: Pushing through his hands strengthens his shoulders, elbows, and wrists while building crucial joint awareness.
🧠 Head & Neck Control: Working on the muscle stamina needed to keep his head high and aligned.
⚖️ Trunk Control & Balance: Engaging his core so he relies less on external support and more on his own strength.
Progress isn't accidental—it's built step-by-step through repetition, patience, and celebrating every single win along the way. So incredibly proud of this rockstar! 💙
