🧠💙 DID YOU KNOW YOUR MENTAL HEALTH CAN AFFECT YOUR BODY?

When we think about mental health, we often focus on thoughts and emotions. But anxiety, depression and prolonged stress can sometimes affect how we feel physically, too.

You might notice:

😴 Changes in sleep patterns

🔋 Constant fatigue or low energy

🤕 Frequent headaches or muscle tension

💓 A racing heart during periods of anxiety

🍽️ Changes in appetite

These symptoms don’t automatically mean you have a mental health condition. Physical symptoms can have many causes, and persistent or concerning changes should be discussed with a healthcare professional. The important reminder? Your mental and physical health are connected, and both deserve attention. At Olympic Behavioral Health, we believe understanding the whole person is an important part of finding appropriate support.

💙 DID YOU KNOW? Mental health treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all.

One common misconception is that getting professional mental health support automatically means staying in a hospital or residential facility.

The reality? There are different levels of care designed to meet different needs.

🏥 PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program): Structured, intensive daytime treatment for individuals who need substantial support without overnight care.

🧠 IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program): A structured treatment option that provides clinical support while allowing more flexibility for everyday responsibilities.

🤝 OP (Outpatient Treatment): Ongoing therapeutic support for individuals who may not need the intensity of PHP or IOP.

So how do you know which one is right for you?

A clinical assessment can help determine the appropriate level of care based on symptoms, safety, functioning, and individual needs.

At Olympic Behavioral Health, we offer PHP, IOP, outpatient services and MAT when clinically appropriate.

What Does Co-Occurring Actually Mean?

You may have heard the term “co-occurring disorders,” but what does it actually mean?

It generally refers to experiencing a mental health disorder and a substance use disorder at the same time.

For example, someone struggling with anxiety or depression may also be experiencing problems related to alcohol or other substance use.

The two concerns can affect one another, which is why looking at the whole person matters when determining appropriate treatment and support.

It’s also important not to assume that one automatically caused the other. Every person’s situation is different, and an appropriate clinical assessment can help determine their individual needs.

Olympic Behavioral Health supports adults experiencing mental health, substance use and co-occurring concerns through PHP, IOP and outpatient services. MAT services are also available when clinically appropriate.

Consider this your Sunday permission slip. 💙

You don’t have to earn rest. You don’t have to have everything figured out before Monday.
And you don’t have to carry everything by yourself.

Sometimes taking care of your mental health means giving yourself permission to slow down, set a boundary, reach out or simply acknowledge that you’ve had a difficult week.

Which permission are you giving yourself today?

Drop the emoji that fits—or keep the answer just for yourself. 👇

Before we close out the week, give yourself some credit.

Maybe you…

💙 Asked for help.
📞 Made the call you were avoiding.
🚶 Got out of the house.
🧠 Set a boundary.
🤝 Showed up for someone.
😴 Finally gave yourself some rest.
🌱 Or simply made it through a difficult week.

Progress doesn’t always announce itself.

Sometimes it looks like doing one thing today that felt impossible yesterday.

So what’s one thing you’re proud of yourself for this week?

Big or small—we want to hear it. 👇
