☝🏽 of ✌🏽 reasons I do what I do, right here.

There is a certain joy in providing for my children so that they have what they need to live and thrive, but knowing that in forging 𝗺𝘆 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵 in life they will always get that they are 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 their own, makes me most happy. 💫 .

When the patient is your 14 year old son, everything changes.

A fall on his right shoulder while snowboarding resulting in this:
𝟭- 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲
𝟮- 𝗔𝗖 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
𝟯- 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲

Of the above listed traumas, Jack would undoubtedly tell you that #3 is the most painful. 💯

Luckily this is not a surgical situation, but he does have to wear a sling and do PT.
“How lucky, your Mom is a PT.”

𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙩, 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮??

The Mom hat and the PT hat that I wear live in very different worlds, and attempting to mix the two does not guarantee a positive outcome. In fact one might argue, just the opposite. 😮

I am the professional, the expert and the one my patients trust to help them heal, when they come in for help.

To Jack, I am Mom.
The one who helps him with his homework, reminds him to brush his teeth, requests that he make his bed and wear clean clothes. 🙄

He doesn’t know me as the professional and as much as I wonder how he would respond to me in that capacity, I also question if it is something I really want to take on.

Updates to follow. 🙂 .

circa 1988 somewhere on Long Island with one of my bestest friends who just turned 55.
The young one of the group.🤩

But really, where does the time go?
34 years have passed but to me it seems like 3, maybe 5.

As the new year looms and we scramble to make resolutions to be better and do better, may we all remember that our time here is finite.

And when 5 years quickly turns into 34 yet you still feel 21 😎 remember that 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙖𝙮 is now. So just do the thing, take the risk and enjoy your fu**ing life. 👊🏽

As I am now on the 60 side of my 50s but still feeling 30, I am acutely aware that time ticks on, and my mortality is for real.
As is yours.

So, choose the things that bring you joy, make your heart happy, and remind you that no matter how much time you think you have, you really only have this day.
That’s all you’ve ever had.

Happy 2023 my friends!

And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a little needle humor!!?

Right on point, I’d say.
