Coming, Sunday October 25th, 3 til 5 PM. Author Event with Kristine Stone, presenting her new book, "Poems as Spells." Poems as Spells invites readers to rediscover classic poetry as incantation—language meant not only to be read, but spoken, felt, summoned, and transformed. Drawing from poets whose work carries the power of longing, darkness, nature, rebellion, memory, and the unseen, this collection reimagines familiar poems as vessels of literary magic. More than an anthology, it is an invitation to participate: to invoke the magic already contained within these words and to recognize that poetry itself can be an act of creation. Read the spells left behind by poets of the past, then take up the pen and begin creating your own. FREE See less

When someone who has passed visits you in a dream. Our elders looked for one thing only, not what was said, not what it means, how they appeared. There are four ways they come, and the fourth one is the reason most visits are wasted.

The first way they come in silence, simply there, watching you. People wake from this troubled. Do not be. Silence was never absence of a message. Presence was the message. They came to say, "I am still with you. Nothing more was needed.

The second way, they come at peace, smiling, light. If you have carried guilt about how their life ended, how they suffered, what you said, what you never said, this dream came for that. It says, put it down. I am well.

The third way, they come trying to tell you something you cannot hear. This one is not about them. Our elders taught it points at your waking life. Something you have been avoiding. Something you keep pushing to next month. The dream is not the warning. Your life is.

But the fourth way. This is the one people miss. They come in a place you shared, the kitchen, the porch, the old road. Our elders taught this is not memory. This is them bringing you back to something they taught you, something you knew once and have stopped living. The place is the envelope. The lesson is inside.

They do not come to be understood; they come to be received. If someone still visits you in the night, share this with someone who misses them too, and follow. So the old ways are not lost.
