Tideline Sports Performance & Rehabilitation is looking for a Sports Doctor of Physical Therapy to join our team.

Over the past several years, we’ve built a practice centered around 1-on-1 care, sports rehabilitation, performance training, and helping active individuals stay healthy doing the things they love.

Now we’re looking for the right clinician to help us continue that mission.

We’re seeking a physical therapist who:

🔹 Thrives in a performance-based environment

That’s how long Steve had been dealing with low back pain.

At first, it was manageable.

A little tightness here.
A little soreness there.

Stretching would help for a while, but the symptoms always seemed to come back.

Over time, sitting became more uncomfortable.
Workouts became more frustrating.
The things he enjoyed doing started requiring more thought and modification.

When Steve came to Tideline, our goal wasn’t simply to “fix his back.”

We wanted to understand WHY his symptoms kept returning.

During his evaluation, Dr. Jaime identified limitations in spinal mobility, hip mobility, movement quality, and overall load tolerance that were contributing to the problem.

Treatment focused on restoring movement options, improving strength, building confidence, and gradually increasing his body’s ability to tolerate the demands of everyday life and training.

The result?

✅ Buttock pain eliminated

✅ Improved spinal mobility

✅ Better movement quality during workouts

That’s a wrap on Week 1 of Bulletproof Athlete! 🚀

Dr. Jaime led youth athletes (ages 8-16) through the fundamentals of proper warm-ups, lifting techniques, and explosive power. From perfecting their deadlift form to mastering landing mechanics, these kids put in the work—and it paid off.

Every single athlete improved their vertical jump by over 5 inches in just one week! 📈

Twenty Eight Consecutive Boston Marathons 🏃🏼‍♂️

Two years ago, JB came in with stubborn right hip/sciatic pain that flared with sitting, driving, and runs.

🏋️‍♂️ Dumbbell shoulder press or barbell shoulder press?

If you’ve spent any time in a gym, you’ve probably heard someone passionately argue that one is “better” than the other.

The reality?

Neither exercise is inherently superior.

Dumbbells offer more freedom of movement and are often easier to customize to your anatomy and comfort.

Barbells typically allow heavier loading and can be a fantastic tool for building pressing strength.

The best choice depends on:

✅ Your goals
✅ Your injury history
✅ Your mobility
✅ Your current training phase

At Tideline, we rarely ask:

“What’s the best exercise?”

Instead, we ask:

👉 “What’s the best exercise for *this person* right now?”

Because the answer is almost always more nuanced than social media would have you believe.

The internet has made sports rehab more complicated than it needs to be.

One expert says your posture is the problem.

Another says it's your mobility.

Another says it's a muscle imbalance.

Another says you should never squat, deadlift, run, or do the thing you actually enjoy.

Meanwhile, the simplest explanation is often the correct one.

Sometimes tissues are irritated.

Sometimes you've done too much, too soon.

Sometimes you need a little guidance, a little patience, and a plan that makes sense.

That's where Occam's Razor comes in:

👉 The simplest explanation is often the most likely.

That doesn't mean sports rehab is simple.

It means the best clinicians can take something complex and make it understandable.

Because rehab shouldn't feel like solving a mystery.

Not all deadlifts stress the body the same way 👀

And that’s not a bad thing.

Trap bar deadlifts and conventional deadlifts are BOTH great tools — but they load the body differently and serve different purposes depending on the athlete, injury history, and goal.

🏋🏻‍♂️ Trap bar deadlifts:
➡️ More upright torso
➡️ More knee bend
➡️ More quad contribution
➡️ Often easier to reintroduce during knee rehab or post-op strength progressions

🏋🏻‍♂️ Conventional deadlifts:
➡️ More hip hinge
➡️ More posterior chain demand
➡️ Greater trunk stiffness requirements
➡️ Excellent for building hamstring, glute, and hinge strength

The goal isn’t to label one as “good” and the other as “bad.”

The goal is understanding:
✔️ what each exercise stresses
✔️ when to use it
✔️ who it’s best for
