Some days you just can't get anything to stick.
Ten tabs open, ten tasks half started, and somehow none of them finished by the end of the day.
That scattered, “can't lock in” feeling gets blamed on a lot of things. Laziness. Bad time management. Not caring enough.
But most of the time it has nothing to do with how disciplined you are.
Your nervous system will deprioritize focus when it's maxed out or overstimulated, because in that moment it thinks there's a bigger problem to solve than your to do list. It's not glitching. It's doing exactly what it's designed to do under stress.
So before you download another productivity app or rewrite your list for the third time, try regulating first. A few slow breaths, a short walk, or just naming out loud what's actually stressing you out can help your brain feel safe enough to focus again.
What's usually underneath your unfocused days? I'd love to hear what it looks like for you.

There's a reason your body reacts to a stressful email almost the same way it would react to a bear running at you.
Your nervous system doesn't stop to evaluate whether a threat is real or not. It just clocks danger and picks a response: fight, flight, or freeze, automatically, before you've even had a conscious thought about it.
For some of us that shows up as hypervigilance... always scanning, always prepping for the worst before it happens. For others it's avoidance, ignoring the thing and hoping it disappears on its own. And for some of us it's freeze, going numb or shutting down completely when things get to be too much.
I tell clients all the time, this is your body's oldest survival system doing exactly what it's designed to do with the information it has. It's working off old wiring in a modern world full of emails, deadlines, and everything else that never actually threatens your life but sure feels like it does in the moment.
Once you know which pattern is yours, you can start building tools around it instead of white-knuckling through it every single time.
So tell me... which one is yours? Fight, flight, or freeze? ✨

Some of the things you're doing to manage your anxiety are actually feeding it.
I want to be clear, this isn't about blame. A lot of what gets passed around as "helpful advice" is built for stress, not anxiety. And those are two different things that get treated similarly online.
I see this constantly in session. Smart, capable women doing everything they know how to do to calm down, and still feeling wired at 11pm, still waiting for the moment it finally clicks.
The habits themselves usually aren't the problem. It's that nobody ever explained why they don't work the way you'd expect them to.
I put together 3 of the most common ones I see in my practice, not to make anyone feel bad, but so you can actually recognize them when they show up.
Take a look through the slides, and let me know in the comments... which one sounds like you?

Therapists who are also parents are usually some of the most prepared people you'll meet. And still allowed to feel things deeply.
If you're in this field, you already know how to plan for a transition. Adjusting schedules ahead of time. Looping your kids into what's coming so nothing catches anyone off guard. That instinct doesn't turn off just because it's your own family this time.
And then the first day comes, and something still gets to you anyway. You're paying attention to how fast this is all moving, and that stays true no matter how many transitions you've helped other people through.
I don't think those two things cancel each other out. You can have every logistic handled and still feel the weight of the moment. That's what it looks like to actually be present for your own life, not just everyone else's.
If you're a therapist and a parent moving through this season, you've probably already got more handled than you're giving yourself credit for.

Anxiety is a 10/10 with this one!

High-functioning anxious women don’t usually go looking for “therapy.” They go looking for someone who actually gets it.

That’s what I built Solaire to be.

Right now I work with women in three ways: Anxiety Therapy for the ongoing work, Anxiety Intensives for the women who can’t do weekly sessions but still need real progress, and Bariatric Counseling for the parts of the food and weight journey that surgery alone doesn’t touch.

Different starting points. Same goal, more calm and more confidence in your actual life.

If one of those sounds like where you are, I’d love to talk. You can schedule a free consultation at the link in bio.

If you're reaching for something at 9pm and you're not actually hungry... your body is asking for relief the fastest way it knows how.
Stress, loneliness, boredom, exhaustion... they’re all looking for something, and food is fast, accessible, and doesn't ask you to explain yourself.
Here's the thing. Stress, loneliness, boredom, exhaustion... they're all looking for something, and food is fast, accessible, and doesn't ask you to explain yourself.
I put together 5 things I actually walk clients through when we work on this. Swipe through the carousel and see which ones land for you.
And if you're ready for real support with it, comment READY and I'll send you the details on my mini-course, Stop Eating Your Feelings™.

Envy has a very specific kind of shame attached to it.
Most of the women I work with will admit to being angry, sad, even anxious before they'll admit to being envious. It feels petty. Like something you're supposed to have grown out of by now.
But envy is just information. It shows up when you notice something you want and don't have yet, or when you feel like you're not quite living up to your own potential. That's it. That's the whole function.
Underneath it is usually desire. Sometimes sadness. And sometimes disappointment in yourself, not the other person.
So next time it shows up, try asking yourself: what is this actually pointing me toward?
I'd love to know... what's one thing envy has taught you about what you actually want?

🌮🍔🍦
Emotional Eating isn’t a lack-of-willpower-problem.

It’s “my emotional have nowhere to go” or “I don’t even know what I’m feeling right now but I don’t like it” problem.

Stress
Boredom
Loneliness
Anger
…even excitement

so any emotions and many people learn that food is the fastest way to manage any of it.

If you’ve ever finished a bag of chips and thought “why did I do that?! … again!?”

You’re not alone.

If you’re reading this and you struggle with emotional eating, I built a mini course for exactly this!
Recognize it, regulate it & rewire it.

No shame. No diet. Just the actual psychology behind what’s happening with we “eat our feelings.”
