Meet the Dentist: Dr. Emily Waikem! ☀️

Born and raised in Bradenton, Florida, Dr. Emily Waikem’s passion for dentistry began in seventh grade after an English assignment asked students to imagine their future careers.

Inspired by her own years of orthodontic treatment, she discovered a love for combining science, artistry, and helping people feel confident in their smiles. 😀

Dr. Waikem began college full-time at just 15 years old at State College of Florida before continuing her education at Florida Gulf Coast University, where she earned multiple academic awards and participated in global outreach programs in South Africa and Nicaragua.

She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry and later completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in Denver, Colorado.

There, she expanded her clinical experience treating patients of all ages while continuing advanced training in implants, cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, Botox, TMJ treatment, sleep apnea care, and full-mouth rehabilitation.

After several years in Colorado, Dr. Waikem returned home to Bradenton, where she is excited to serve the community she grew up in. Outside the office, she enjoys beach walks, hiking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

She is now accepting new patients and excited to give our community smiles they can feel confident in.

Meet the Dentist: Dr. Avery Greene ✨

Born and raised in Bradenton, Florida, Dr. Greene is proud to serve the community that shaped her.

She is a graduate of Manatee High, USF St. Petersburg, and earned both her Masters of Medical Sciences and Doctorate of Dental Medicine from LECOM in Lakewood Ranch. 🦷

Dr. Greene discovered her passion for dentistry in second grade after loving her own pediatric dentist.

Helping people has always been at the heart of what she does.

During dental school at LECOM, Dr. Greene became a published researcher in her first year and was honored as Volunteer of the Year and named a LECOM Ambassador.

Dr. Greene is deeply committed to continuing education and advanced training to bring innovative and cutting edge care to Advanced Dental Cosmetic Center.

She practices comprehensive dentistry with a focus on providing nearly all treatment in-house with skilled, compassionate care.

Patients appreciate her warm approach, honesty, and ability to clearly explain procedures and X-rays — especially those with dental anxiety.😥

Outside the office, Dr. Greene loves spending time with her husband Benny, her high school sweetheart and biggest supporter, and their three boys: James, Oliver, and Graham.

Meet the doctors of Advanced Dental Cosmetic Surgery:

Starting with Dr. J. Terry Alford.📣

Dr. Alford started Advanced Dental Cosmetic Center in 1978, right here in sunny Bradenton, Florida.

Some things you may not know about Dr. Alford:

1. Dr. Alford is a decorated U.S. Air Force jet pilot and Vietnam veteran.

2. After graduating with honors from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, he built a practice focused on cosmetic reconstruction, implants, and advanced laser dentistry.

3. He left the USAF in 1974 as a Flight Examiner and Instructor and continues his avocation as a certified flight instructor.

5. He was voted into the National Honor Dental Society (Omicron Kappa Upsilon), PHI PHI chapter, receiving the Academy of General Dentistry Award for excellence voted by all the university professors, as well as the Lazanski Award for excellence in Oral Surgery.

Recognized multiple times as a “Favorite Dentist” and “America’s Top Dentist,” Dr. Alford continues to lead in modern dental techniques, including laser technology and facial esthetics.

For almost 40 years, Dr. Alford has practiced dentistry in Bradenton, Florida, with a special emphasis on Cosmetic Reconstruction, Implants, Cosmetic Enhancements, and Facial Rejuvenation.

☀In July of 2023, Dr. Alford welcomed Dr. Avery Greene onto the ADCC team to help expand services and care to the Bradenton, Florida area.

At the start of 2026, they welcomed Dr. Emily Waikem to complete the team.
