A familiar face here is changing roles; we are excited to announce that Korey Kampen has accepted the new role of Clinical Services Director.

Hello!!
I would like to take a moment and share a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in the Brainerd Lakes area.
I have been a Registered Nurse for 18 plus years and worked in healthcare since 1993. I started my career as a CNA in long-term care, but my passion is the elder population, and I have returned to my passion. I look forward to having the opportunity to get to know both residents and families better over time.
I am married. Some of you may know my wife, Shelli Kampen. We have 3 adult children and 6 grandchildren. They are the center of my life. I proudly served 6 years in the United States Marine Corps. I take pride in and honor those who served before me.

This Memorial Day, all of us at Edgewood Senior Living Brainerd pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸
Our Remembrance Table stands as a powerful symbol of those who are no longer with us—the empty chair reminding us of their absence, the rose for their sacrifice, and the candle for the light of their memory that continues to shine in our hearts.
Today, we reflect with gratitude, humility, and deep respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. May we never forget their courage, their service, and the families who carry their legacy forward.

Teachers make up many of our residents. What makes it special is how they bring the same patience and understanding they once used in the classroom into everyday life here. So, while they may not have a lesson plan anymore… they’re still shaping the room, building connections, and making people feel seen.

Hydration is daily care, simple, essential, and easy to overlook.

Drinking enough keeps kidneys healthy, energy up, and UTIs at bay. We make hydration a habit, woven seamlessly into daily life. A few sips with meals. With meds. Between activities. A favorite cup, a splash of lemon, whatever makes it easy and enjoyable.

Make it routine. Start early. Sip often. Keep it simple.
