Autism is one of the most misunderstood neurotypes, and much of what people think they know comes from media, stereotypes, outdated information, or seeing only a small piece of the picture.
Autism isn’t a trend, a behavior problem, poor parenting, or something that needs to be “fixed.” It’s a different way of experiencing, processing, and interacting with the world.
A few things to remember:
✨ No two autistic people are the same.
✨ Communication differences are not deficits.
✨ Meltdowns are signs of overwhelm, not manipulation.
✨ Acceptance, accommodations, and understanding improve quality of life far more than forcing people to appear “typical.”
As we continue sharing information about neurodivergence, remember that social media posts are not diagnostic tools. Human brains are complex, and experiences exist on a continuum. Learning about traits can help us better understand ourselves and others, but a diagnosis involves looking at patterns, impact, history, and the whole person.
