From our very own therapist! 🐘✨

We're proud to share a new blog post written by Perrie Mo, LICSW: "Attachment-Based Therapy for Asian Adults: Why High-Functioning Anxiety Often Begins in Childhood."

In this piece, Perrie explores why so many Asian adults who look successful and put-together on the outside carry a quiet, constant anxiety on the inside, and how early attachment patterns, not necessarily "big trauma," often explain why. She unpacks how culturally reinforced adaptations like achievement, silence, and self-sufficiency can shape our nervous systems well into adulthood, and what it looks like to build new relational experiences that allow for real safety and self-compassion.

If you've ever felt like you have to earn safety through perfection, this one's worth a read.

New support group starting January 2027 🌱

Growing up, did love look like sacrifice more than words? Did staying quiet keep the peace at home?

We're launching a virtual peer support group for Asian American adults raised by immigrant parents — grounded in the Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents framework, and built with a real understanding of filial obligation, silence, and intergenerational dynamics. This space isn't about blaming our parents — it's about understanding the patterns we carry and learning what boundaries and self-trust can look like now.

Congratulations to one of our clinicians, April Tang, LCSW, for being invited to speak about anti-Asian hate and the shortage of Asian mental health services on NBC Boston! We feel honored to have such an amazing therapist in our practice.

The recent surge in anti-Asian hate is also triggering a demand for therapists in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities, but finding one, especially one who’s Asian, is proving difficult for many during the pandemic.
