CPR shouldn’t be something only healthcare workers are expected to know.

My goal is to teach new parents, high school students, and anyone physically able how to respond in spite of their fear — through the American Red Cross: Basic First Aid, CPR, & AED course.

A couple of questions that I receive whenever I mention the American Red Cross Blended Learning course that we offer:

1. How long is the blended-learning online session?
The length of the online session is variable, from 30 min - 3 hours 30 min, and participants are required to complete the online session prior to attending the in-person session.

2. How long is the blended learning in-person skills session ?
That Is also variable, but it will be no less than 1 hour 30 minutes and no more than 2 hours 30 minutes.

Classes coming at the end of July and beginning of August, reach out today!

💡 A friend recently asked me why I decided to teach these classes so I figured I’d also post the answer here:

👩🏽‍🚒 I don’t teach CPR and First Aid because emergencies are likely—I teach it because I’ve heard too many stories where someone wishes they had known what to do. Basic First Aid, CPR, & proper AED use should NOT be something only healthcare workers & first responders are expected to know.

🤔 They won’t be at your house for the Juneteenth cookout when your nephew gets burned getting too close to the hot grill. They won’t be with your kid trick-or-treating on Halloween when she falls and gets hurt. You’d be lucky if one happened to be at the football stadium when your seat-neighbor passes out from choking on his brat during the final seconds of the game.

‼️ The safety of other human beings is non-negotiable — learn the skills to respond BEFORE the ambulance arrives through the American Red Cross Basic First Aid, CPR, & AED course.

Summer means pools, cookouts… and more time at home.

Drowning remains the leading cause of death for young children (cdc.gov), and can happen quickly and quietly.

CPR isn’t JUST for healthcare workers.

It’s for parents, grandparents, babysitters, coaches, neighbors… regular people, living regular lives.

Come learn skills you hope you never need — but will be glad to have.

People seem to think that CPR Classes 𝕆ℕ𝕃𝕐 teach you how to do ℂ𝕒𝕣𝕕𝕚𝕠𝕡𝕦𝕝𝕞𝕠𝕟𝕒𝕣𝕪 ℝ𝕖𝕤𝕦𝕤𝕔𝕚𝕥𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟..

🤔 but what about:

• choking?
• burns?
• severe bleeding?
• heat exhaustion?
• someone collapsing before help arrives?
• do you know how to use an AED?

Basic First Aid + CPR + Proper AED use are 𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕪𝕕𝕒𝕪 life skills; who better to learn them from, than a Veteran Marine Aircraft Firefighter and mother, with Elementary School experience?
