Mississippi Counseling Association invites you to participate in a workshop titled, “When The Therapist Needs a Therapist”. This exciting and informative workshop is Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the Imperial Palace Casino in Biloxi, MS. This workshop will provide an opportunity for 6 contact hours in Ethics. The cost for this workshop is $150 for MCA members and $200 for non-members. Registration must be completed by June 22, 2026, on the MCA website (mica.memberclicks.net). Hurry, there are only 40 spots available for this workshop.

The call for programs for MCA’s 2026 annual fall conference that will be held November 4-6, 2026, in Biloxi, MS, first opened on March 15; however, the deadline is just over a month away on June 22. Be sure to visit the MCA website (mica.memberclicks.net) for more information.

You are invited to attend the MLPCA 2026 Annual Conference. This in-person, two-day event will take place on June 25 - 26, 2026. The conference will begin on Thursday, June 25, with check-in at 5:30 pm in the Holiday Inn meeting room, followed by the welcome session and keynote address at 6:00 pm. On Friday, June 26, conference sessions will run from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Lunch will be provided for registered attendees.

Participants who attend the full conference will be eligible to receive ethics continuing education (CE) hours. We look forward to your participation and hope you can join us for this valuable professional development opportunity!

The Tombigbee & Northeast Regions are hosting a joint workshop on May 29, in Tupelo. Registration will begin at 8:00 am, and the workshop will run from 8:30 am until 3:00 pm. For those who wish to attend that have up to date memberships with MCA, your registration fee will be waived; however, non-members will have a cost of $150.00 each. We are lucky to have Karla, a past president of MCA, continue utilizing her strong leadership skills for the good of this profession we love!

MCA members proudly represented our organization at the American Counseling Association Conference & Expo in Columbus Ohio last week. In addition to gaining knowledge through sessions attended and networking with other counselors from various parts of the country, some of our members had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Gerald Corey while there.
