I love this Lewis Howes quote. It brought back so many memories of how far I've come over the years and my discovery that there was so much more to life.
For years, I never caught the vision.
My mornings looked pretty much the same.
Alarm.
Get up.
Check the traffic.
Check the weather.
Worry about being late.
Then head into another nonstop day in healthcare—busy, demanding, and often without even a real break.
I loved caring for people. I loved my profession.
But if I’m being honest, I didn't love waking up to do it anymore.
And I certainly wasn't jumping out of bed because I was excited about what the day might bring.
I had spent so many years thinking that was just what adulthood looked like.
Work hard.
Get through the day.
Wait for the weekend.
Catch up on the weekends.
Repeat.
Then somewhere along the way, I started to realize…
What if there was another way?
What if I could create a life where my work actually fit the life I wanted to live?
What if my experience in healthcare, my passion for health and wellness, and my desire to help people could become something bigger?
I didn't have the whole picture when I started.
I just had a little spark of a vision.
And that vision grew.
Today, I wake up with a very different question:
“Who can I help today?”
That's what freedom looks like to me.
Not necessarily never working.
Not having every day be easy.
But having a reason to get out of bed that feels meaningful to me.
Sometimes we don't need to work harder at the life we've already created.
Sometimes we need to give ourselves permission to dream bigger.
What would make YOU want to jump out of bed in the morning?
Maybe it's time to start there.
