If your contact lenses are becoming harder to wear, your eyes might be telling you something. GPC is an inflammatory condition linked to contact lens wear. Deposits build up over time beneath your eyelids causing constant friction. This causes your contact lenses to become uncomfortable when wearing, feeling as if they're moving or that there's an object in your eye.
This condition is more common in those who wear their contact lenses for more than the recommended 12 hours a day, those who have worn contact lenses (even as recommended) for many years, those who wear monthly lenses vs daily lenses, and those who suffer from allergies.
Don't ignore a suddenly uncomfortable contact lens. Call our office to speak to a technician who will discuss your contact lens care routine with you & schedule an appointment so you can get back to healthy contact lens wear soon!
