Come to any CR meeting and you will hear people introduce themselves with something like “I’m a grateful believer in Jesus who is recovering or struggling with xyz isssue.” This is because we have learned that our identity is in Christ, who He calls us to be, who He says we are … He calls us His children. He calls us sons and daughters.
Our issues don’t define us. When we begin to understand this, we can let go of that identity full of lies and we can embrace what God calls us to.
