Sometimes, postpartum support is sitting with a sleeping baby so that mom can get a hot, uninterrupted shower.

As a postpartum doula, I'm not a nanny or a housekeeper, but I'm here to mother the mother. Care, support and nurturing look different from visit to visit. Today, Tec and I helped around the house and then sat with this little snoozing nugget while Mom got a chance to shower, and Dad and big brother napped.

Do you need an extra pair of hands or a listening ear? Reach out! We aren't meant to do postpartum on our own.

Tension can make contractions feel more intense and can work against what your body is trying to do. When you consciously relax your jaw, shoulders, and hands, you are signaling the rest of your body to soften too. Think low, slow breaths and letting each wave pass instead of fighting it. It is a small shift that can make a big difference in how labor feels. If you want to learn more simple ways to support your body through labor, you can find more tips and resources on our page and website.
