The Covering House

The Covering House Restoring the lives of sexually trafficked youth in the U.S. The Covering House is a therapeutic recovery program for youth who have been sexually trafficked.

Our COVER Care™ program is being licensed and copyrighted as an evidence-based program for national distribution. The program integrates specialized therapies (horticulture, equine, culinary, and arts/expressions) with experiential learning, individual and group therapy, sensory diet, and a full in-house, trauma-informed education program designed to meet the physical, mental, spiritual, and emoti

onal needs of survivors. Since 2009, The Covering House has served 440+ children and teens and educated 11,000+ at-risk youth on trafficking red flags and self-protective behaviors.

Our 2025 Impact Report is out now! You can read the full report on our website at https://www.thecoveringhouse.org/annualreport. In this post, and some upcoming ones, we are going to break it down. We will go page by page to really show how much of an impact your support is having and how grateful we are for it!

Just like in 2026, in 2025 we kicked off the year with a program graduation! At these graduations, we celebrate with food, decorations, games, and speeches. The staff give heartfelt send offs, sharing their fond memories and well wishes. This young lady certainly left a lasting impact! Staff shared how much they appreciated her strength, courage, smile, dedication to her children, her joy of being a mother, and more!

The girls at our residential home have been having fun in the sun! Playing in the sprinklers has been one of their favorite activities at the home. They also had a blast at the pool a few weeks ago. We are trying to reimburse their childhood experiences, one memory at a time.

Thank you for being Champions for Children yesterday by supporting our TCH Give Day Campaign. Whether you liked, shared, or donated yourself, every single interaction made a huge difference. Our last big WIN of this campaign is that we met our $65,000 goal. In fact, we exceeded it. You all raised over $80,000 to help s*x trafficked and exploited youth heal from their trauma. THANK YOU!

Regan was in foster care since early childhood. While bouncing around from foster home to foster home, she was trafficked and exploited online. Fortunately, someone realized what was happening and Regan was referred to The Covering House. Once in our care, she began receiving services like therapy to help her heal from the trauma she experienced. Through her bravery, her perpetrator was also arrested. Regan's healing will be ongoing, but thanks to people like you, she's on her way.

Not every WIN is seemingly “big”, but even the small WINS can have a big impact!

When one of our clients, Janelle, came to The Covering House, emotional outbursts were her norm. In the time that she has been here, Janelle has started to relax and let down her guard, even opening up to her therapist. She has learned how to calm herself down (most of the time).

Janelle still has a long road of healing ahead of her, but she’s come so far. She even feels hope again and hope is such a powerful thing, especially for our girls.
