Why the daily commitment? Your teeth have a natural memory, and they love to try and drift back to where they used to be before braces or Invisalign. Wearing your retainer every day locks your beautiful smile into place so your hard work doesn't undo itself! 🔒😁

If you're wondering why on earth a 7-year-old needs to see an orthodontist, you are definitely not alone!

Think of an early evaluation at Doyle Orthodontics like a quick "growth check" for their smile. It’s not about rushing into braces—it's about making sure everything is tracking smoothly under the surface.

Here is what we look for during that quick, easy first visit:

✨ The Tooth GPS: Around age 7, adult teeth are moving into place. We make sure they have a clear path to guide themselves in properly without getting stuck or blocked by baby teeth.
✨ The Jaw Blueprint: Your child's jaw bones are still soft and growing. If the top and bottom jaws aren't lining up right (like an underbite or a narrow crossbite), we can guide that growth easily now. Waiting until they are teenagers makes fixing jaw structure much trickier.
✨ Catching Hidden Issues: Sometimes a smile looks completely straight on the outside, but an X-ray shows adult teeth heading in the wrong direction. Catching this early prevents big, complicated procedures down the road.
