Freedom is what we celebrate today. It is a gift that a nation like no other has given the world. But celebrating America has never meant pretending it's perfect. It isn't. Its leaders aren't, especially today. And that's exactly why the work of protecting it belongs to ALL of us, NOT just some of us.

Because protecting this country doesn't mean protecting only the people who look the way we look or believe what we believe. It means protecting everyone, regardless of race, s*x, gender identity or expression, religion, or political affiliation.

America is a beautiful, complicated American family. Its strength lies in its diversity, a bright beacon on the hill and the true melting pot of the world.

NPS Healthcare works hard to keep this promise by ensuring that everyone who comes to us, no matter their background, economic status, or life circumstances, feels heard, seen, and respected.

Today, we pause to remember.

Ten years ago, 49 beautiful lives were taken, and countless others were forever changed in the tragedy at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. While a decade has passed, the memories, the love, and the impact of those we lost remain with us.

At NPS Healthcare, our hearts are with the victims’ families, the survivors, LGBT+ Center Orlando - The Center, and the entire Orlando LGBTQ+ community. We honor the courage shown in the face of unimaginable loss and celebrate the resilience, unity, and love that continue to shine brighter than hate.

The legacy of the 49 lives lost lives on through every act of compassion, every voice raised for equality, and every effort to build a more inclusive world.

Today, we remember.

Today, we stand together.

May we never forget the lives lost, the lessons learned, and the strength of a community that refused to be broken.

Dear Norfolk Clinic Patients,

It is with deep regret that NPS Healthcare announces the closure of on-site services at our Norfolk clinic, located at the LGBT Life Center, effective today, March 11.

Over the past 18 months, our mission has been to provide the Hampton Roads community with an alternative, community-based clinic focused on STI prevention, HIV care, and LGBTQ+ health. Unfortunately, due to current market and economic conditions, NPS Healthcare is no longer able to sustain onsite operations at our Norfolk clinic.

Your health and the continuity of your care remain our top priorities. As of today, all scheduled on-site appointments are cancelled. However, we want you to know that care will remain accessible to you during this transition. An NPS Healthcare provider will be available via telehealth starting Monday, March 16, and continuing through April 17. They can manage your care, order labs, renew prescriptions, and address ongoing medical needs, all without interrupting your current treatment plan.

We encourage patients to continue their care with their NPS Healthcare telehealth provider until April 17. After that date, our team will assist in transitioning you to a new provider of your choice. If you prefer to transfer your care before April 17, we are happy to accommodate that request. Just contact us, and we will manage the transfer of your records.

Additionally, patients may continue to have lab work (blood draws, STI testing, etc.) completed directly at Labcorp and Sentara Labs locations during this period.

NPS Healthcare’s Norfolk Clinic, located at the LGBT Life Center, is currently transitioning between on-site medical providers. During this period, only lab services (HIV/STI testing and injection administration) will be offered onsite at the clinic.

Our friendly medical assistants will collaborate with you to ensure that any upcoming provider appointments are reassigned to a telehealth provider until a new on-site provider is selected.
