1 in 5 mothers will experience a perinatal mood disorder.
1 in 7 will have postpartum depression.
Up to 20% will struggle with postpartum anxiety.
And 75% of them won't get the help they need.

But here's what those numbers don't tell you:
They don't tell you about the mother who Googles "is it normal to feel nothing for your baby" at 3am, terrified of what it means about her.
They don't tell you about the one who's white-knuckling every day, performing "fine" while drowning inside.

They don't tell you about the intrusive thoughts that make her feel like a monster, or the rage that scares her, or the grief for who she used to be.
They don't tell you about her childhood wounds resurfacing, her relationship cracking under the weight, her body that doesn't feel like hers anymore.
They don't tell you that she's probably blaming herself. That she thinks she should be grateful. That she's ashamed to admit she's struggling.

The statistics matter because they tell us this is common.
But your experience matters because you're not a statistic—you're a whole person carrying an impossible load with insufficient support.

You're not weak for struggling. You're not ungrateful for feeling hard things. You're not failing because you need help.

You're navigating one of the most vulnerable seasons of life, and you deserve care that sees all of you—not just your symptoms, but your history, your relationships, your nervous system, your unmet needs.

Maternal mental health isn't just about "treating depression."

It's about supporting mothers as complex, whole humans who deserve to be seen, held, and believed.

If you're in this 1 in 5, please know: there is nothing wrong with you. And you don't have to carry this alone. Tag a new mom who needs to hear this!

Postpartum rage isn't in the DSM. But it's real. And it's important.

It's not just hormones. It's your body finally having permission to feel the anger that wasn't safe before.

Anger at the invisible labor. Anger at the lack of support. Anger at how much you've given and how little you've received. Anger at your own mother, your partner, the system, yourself.

This rage is information. It's not something to suppress or shame.

It's your system saying: Something here isn't okay.

Let's listen to it. Let's find out what it needs. And let's make space for you to be angry AND a good mother.

Because you can be both.

If you got a bingo, I see you.

Religious trauma affects how you see yourself, your body, your worth, your relationships, and your right to take up space.

Deconstruction is brave. And it's just the beginning.

The real work is learning to trust yourself again.

It's hard to put into words what a Healing Our Core Issues Intensive does. There's grief, sadness and a heaviness that starts as we get your story straight and own the reality of what your childhood was actually like. Perhaps there was overt abuse, but often there is covert neglect that is difficult to name and why often adults think they had a "good childhood," but are confused as to why they are depressed or anxious. Day two, we use two memories that were particularly painful in childhood, and have often left a lasting impact on you (that's a key indicator of trauma). I guide you to reparent your younger self as that caring, nurturing, protective parent you needed then, but didn't have. The best part of this is that you know exactly what you needed back then and didn't get. There's a significant shift that happens after day two. You see yourself with compassion, as you were just a child and needed a parent to actually see and comfort you. Day three wraps up with experiential, empty chair work, where we "bring in" one parent at a time, and as you embody a functional adult, you tell them how their parenting or lack there of, impacted you then. You tell them what you needed and didn't get, and how this still impacts you to this day. This is powerful work and leaves you feeling confident in yourself and lighter because you give back your parents' carried shame in the process. Incredibly beautiful work.

Your partner dismisses you and you spiral for three days.

Your mom makes a comment and suddenly you're 12 again.

A friend doesn't text back and you're convinced you're too much.

You're not overreacting. You're having a trauma response.

And the cruel part? You've probably been told your whole life that you're "too sensitive," "too emotional," "making a big deal out of nothing."

So now, even your pain gets policed—by others and by yourself.

Let me be clear: Your feelings make sense. Your body is responding to old wounds that never got the care they deserved.

You're not broken. You're unfinished. And that's what we work with.

Breaking the Either/Or Mindset
Healing isn’t linear, and your approach doesn’t have to be either/or. You might start with an intensive for a major breakthrough, then transition to weekly sessions for integration. Or after years of weekly therapy, an intensive can help you dive deeper into patterns or trauma. Some people alternate between periods of intensive work and weekly maintenance.

Modern therapy gives you options. Your healing is personal, and your path should be too.
