Last month, I attended the PSI Perinatal Mental Health Certification Training, Perinatal Mood Disorders: Components of Care with the Greater Washington Urban League.

This training is a thorough, evidence-based curriculum for Black health professionals who serve Black families.

I'm always grateful to be in the company of professionals who are pushing for improvements in maternal health. I got to meet people in person who I've been connected to online, meet new people, and I got to catch up with Jabina, which is always fun!

The room was full of Black mental health professionals, doulas, lactation professionals, a few other midwives and more.

Black Mothers, trust me when I tell you, you are loved and supported! 💜

Next week I'll be attending the Fatherhood Liberated training and then preparing for my certification exam.

"Aint nobody gonna save us but us,"
Kimberly L. Corbin, GWUL Chief Administrative & Financial Officer. Shout out to them for providing scholarships for everyone in attendance! THIS is how you make change.
