As Brigham City Community Hospital celebrates 50 years of caring like family, our colleagues are giving back to the next generation.

Ahead of the 2026-27 school year, our team partnered with Box Elder Family Support Center to donate 50 backpacks and school supplies for students who need them.

2026 also marks 50 years of HCA Healthcare in Utah—known locally as MountainStar Healthcare! Our sister facility, Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, celebrated with Ashley Hawk, host of Fox 13's The PLACE.

From birth to board member: Megan Bushnell and Brigham City Community Hospital celebrate 50 years ❤️

On a warm day in July 1976, our hospital opened its doors, and our very own Board of Trustees Member, Megan Bushnell, became its first-ever patient! Megan’s mother gave birth at Cooley Memorial Hospital, a nearby facility that served the community for 40 years. When Brigham City Community Hospital opened, Cooley team members & patients transferred to the more advanced and updated hospital. Megan’s mother remembers the ambulance ride as she and her brand-new baby arrived to warm, celebratory welcomes at the brand-new hospital.

Megan says that as she learns more about the hospital’s services and outreach, her confidence in the quality of compassionate community healthcare continues to grow.

"When I think of the past 50 years and knowing what I know now about how they help their patients as well as their employees, I am fully confident in having my family and I receive our healthcare at Brigham City Community Hospital – and I can’t think of a better compliment than that," Megan said.

For 50 years, Brigham City families & community members have trusted BCCH with their healthcare, and the hospital plans to continue providing compassionate patient-centered care and innovation for many years to come!
