This beautiful community event offers a time to gather together, reflect, and release butterflies as a symbol of love, hope, and remembrance.

This Father’s Day, we are honored to spotlight one of the incredible men who serves families at Aaron’s Mortuary – Brigham City; Funeral Assistant Mike Nelsen.

Mike’s life has been built on faith, family, and service. Raised on a cattle ranch in Montana, he learned the value of hard work early in life. He attended Ricks College, served a two-year mission in Ecuador, and later graduated from BYU with a degree in Justice Administration.

Mike and his wife, Carrie, have been married for 47½ years and have called Brigham City home for over 46 years. Together they raised five children and are proud grandparents to 13 grandchildren, with their 14th arriving soon.

A lifelong community servant, Mike spent 43 years in law enforcement, retiring as Brigham City Chief of Police. He and Carrie also served a 19-month mission in Laie, Hawaii. In July 2025, Mike joined Aaron’s Mortuary – Brigham City as a Funeral Assistant, where he continues to serve families with the same compassion, integrity, and dedication that have defined his life and career.

Mike's Legacy of Service:
• Grew up on a cattle ranch in Montana
• Associate Degree in Pre-Law from Ricks College
• Served a 2-year mission in Ecuador
• Bachelor’s Degree in Justice Administration from BYU
• Married to Carrie for 47½ years
• Brigham City resident for 46½ years

• Farmer and cattle rancher

• Former Brigham City Chief of Police

We are grateful to have Mike as part of the Aaron’s Mortuary family and thankful for the example he sets as a husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and community servant. His kindness, wisdom, and genuine concern for others leave a lasting impression on everyone he meets.

Please join us in wishing Mike, and all fathers, grandfathers, and father figures, a very Happy Father’s Day. Thank you for the love, guidance, sacrifice, and strength you provide every day. 💙

💙 Honoring Dads This Father’s Day 💙

Father’s Day can be a bittersweet reminder of the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who have left a lasting impact on our lives.

This weekend, we invite you to take a moment to remember the man who helped shape your story. Whether it's sharing a favorite memory, looking through old photographs, visiting a special place, preparing his favorite meal, or simply speaking his name, these small acts of remembrance can keep his legacy alive.

While our loved ones may no longer be with us physically, the lessons they taught, the love they shared, and the memories they created remain a part of us every day. Their influence continues through the lives they touched and the families they helped build.
