For a long time, doctors believed that after a certain point, a damaged brain couldn't recover. You might improve for a short while, they said — then plateau. Full stop.

Science has since proven otherwise. 🧠

Neuroplasticity is your brain's ability to reorganize itself — forming new connections, strengthening existing pathways, and creating alternate routes when familiar ones are disrupted. And here's the remarkable part: it doesn't stop at a certain age or a certain point post-injury. It happens throughout your entire life.

Think of your brain like a living map. Frequently traveled roads become wider and more efficient. New roads can be built when old ones are blocked.

What this means for TBI recovery:
👉 Improvement is possible months, years, even decades after an injury.
👉 Repetition and meaningful practice help wire new neural pathways.
👉 Your brain becomes more efficient at whatever you practice most.

One principle worth remembering: "Neurons that fire together, wire together." Every time you practice a skill — a therapy exercise, a new routine, even a mindfulness technique — you're actively helping your brain rebuild.

This is real. This is science. And it means there is a genuine reason for hope. 💙

Loneliness can eat your mind and soul

How the Pain of Loneliness Hurts Your Brain
https://buff.ly/g05UEJG

💔 Social connection is as important to your health as food, safety, and shelter.
🚨 Research shows loneliness can harm you as much as smoking or obesity.
What loneliness does to your brain & body:
🧠 Triggers pain pathways like physical injury
🔥 Increases inflammation & stress hormones
❤️ Raises risk of heart disease and stroke

Connection isn’t optional—it’s essential.

🧠 Creatine may support more than muscles. It may also support the brain.

Emerging research suggests creatine supplementation may help improve:
📌 Processing speed
📌 Memory and attention
📌 Mental stamina during fatigue
📌 Cognitive performance during sleep deprivation

One recent study found that a single dose of creatine partially reduced the cognitive effects of acute sleep deprivation, including declines in reaction time and processing speed.

Why? The brain uses enormous amounts of energy. Creatine helps support ATP production, which acts as fuel for brain cells, especially during periods of stress or fatigue.

Researchers are also exploring its possible role in:
• Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
• Concussion recovery
• Neurodegenerative disease
• Depression and cognitive fatigue

The effects appear modest and more research is needed, but it is an interesting and growing area of neuroscience research.
