SUMMERTIME AESTHETIC TREATMENTS ☀️

One of the biggest misconceptions in aesthetics is that ALL treatments have to stop during the summer.

That’s simply not true.

The reality is:Summer treatments are about patient selection, lifestyle, sun exposure, and proper aftercare — not just the season itself.

Certain treatments absolutely require more caution during the summer months, especially if you:• Spend a lot of time outdoors• Have beach or pool vacations planned• Work outside• Struggle with sunscreen compliance• Have melasma or pigment-prone skin

Treatments like:• Plasma Pen• Aggressive chemical peels• Deep resurfacing procedures• Certain higher-aggression IPL settings

may NOT be ideal if significant UV exposure is expected during healing.

Why?

Because inflammation + UV exposure + heat can increase the risk of:• Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)• Melasma flare-ups• Delayed healing• Uneven pigmentation• Increased sensitivity

This is especially important with procedures that intentionally create controlled injury to stimulate collagen and skin remodeling.

BUT…

That does NOT mean aesthetic treatments have to stop altogether during the summer.

Many treatments can still safely be performed year-round with proper protocols and realistic patient expectations.

Summer-friendly treatments may include:• Customized facials• HydroDermabrasion• Dermaplane facials• Microdermabrasion• Barrier repair treatments• Hydrating treatments• Red light therapy• Certain microneedling protocols• Select IPL treatments depending on skin type, settings, and sun habits

Even with IPL, not every patient is automatically disqualified in the summer.

The key is:Has the patient had recent sun exposure? Are they tanning? Can they avoid UV exposure after treatment? Will they actually wear SPF consistently?

Because someone who stays mostly indoors and practices excellent sun protection may still be a candidate for certain corrective procedures year-round.

Aesthetic treatments should always be customized to the patient — not just the calendar.

Beautiful skin is built through consistency, protection, and smart treatment planning all year long.

BIOREPEEL: THE PEEL THAT DOESN’T ACT LIKE A PEEL

When most people think of a chemical peel, they think of redness, shedding, and hiding at home for a week.

BioRePeel is different.

This Italian-made, biphasic (two-phase) TCA peel combines exfoliation, skin rejuvenation, and collagen stimulation into a single treatment—often with little to no visible peeling. Its unique formula contains 35% TCA along with amino acids, vitamins, salicylic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, and lactobionic acid, allowing it to work both on the surface and deeper within the skin.

What Makes BioRePeel Unique?

• Exfoliates without the excessive peeling often associated with traditional peels
• Stimulates fibroblasts to support collagen and elastin production
• Helps improve skin texture, tone, and overall skin quality
• Can be used year-round on many skin types
• Little to no social downtime for most patients
• Safe for face, neck, chest, hands, and many body areas

What Is BioRePeel Used For?

✔ Acne & congested pores
✔ Acne scarring
✔ Hyperpigmentation & sun damage
✔ Fine lines & wrinkles
✔ Rough texture
✔ Enlarged pores
✔ Dull, tired-looking skin
✔ Early signs of aging

How Does It Work?

BioRePeel uses a two-phase technology.

The hydrophilic phase contains TCA and other acids that exfoliate dead skin cells, unclog pores, improve pigmentation, and accelerate cellular turnover.

The lipophilic phase helps deliver active ingredients deeper into the skin while protecting and hydrating the skin barrier.

At the same time, amino acids, vitamins, and other bio-stimulating ingredients help activate fibroblasts—the cells responsible for producing collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid—creating healthier skin from the inside out.

My Take as an Aesthetician

One of the reasons I love BioRePeel is that it bridges the gap between a traditional chemical peel and a rejuvenation treatment. It’s not just removing dead skin—it’s helping stimulate the skin’s natural repair processes while improving acne, pigmentation, texture, and early aging concerns.

Think of it as a peel, collagen treatment, and skin refresh all in one.

BioRePeel is available at Belle Phases Aesthetics By Rhiana. Consultations are always complimentary to determine if you’re a good candidate and to build the right treatment plan for your skin goals.

PATIENT SENSITIVITY: WHY DOES ONE TREATMENT FEEL DIFFERENT THAN ANOTHER?

One of the most common things I hear is:

“But this didn’t hurt nearly this much last time!”

The truth is, your body’s sensitivity can change significantly from month to month based on hormones, medications, inflammation levels, hydration, sleep, and even stress.

One thing we’ve consistently noticed in aesthetics is that patients using GLP-1 medications (such as semaglutide or tirzepatide) often report increased sensitivity during procedures such as IPL, Morpheus8, Plasma Pen, microneedling, and certain chemical peels.

While research is still evolving, GLP-1 medications can affect hydration status, nutritional intake, blood sugar regulation, and inflammatory signaling throughout the body. Many patients report feeling more sensitive to heat, discomfort, and stimulation during treatment.

For this reason, I often recommend discussing with your prescribing provider whether temporarily stopping your GLP-1 medication approximately 7 days before treatment is appropriate for you. In my experience, many patients notice a significant improvement in comfort when they do.

Another major factor? Your menstrual cycle.

Many women experience heightened sensitivity beginning about 7-10 days before their cycle starts and sometimes continuing through the first few days of menstruation.

Why?

As estrogen levels decline and progesterone fluctuates, pain perception can increase. These hormonal changes affect neurotransmitters, inflammation, nerve signaling, and the body’s pain threshold. The result is that treatments that normally feel very manageable may suddenly feel much more intense.

This doesn’t mean you’re a bad candidate for treatment.

It simply means timing matters.

If you’ve ever felt like one laser treatment, Morpheus session, Plasma Pen treatment, or peel was significantly more uncomfortable than another, there may be a very real physiologic reason behind it.

At Belle Phases, treatment planning isn’t one-size-fits-all. Understanding your medications, hormones, health history, and timing helps us create the safest and most comfortable experience possible.

Beautiful skin starts with understanding the body beneath it.

PLASMA PEN FIBROBLAST THERAPY ✨

A little disclaimer before we begin: I have never in my life posted a video of myself with no makeup on. So here I am—no makeup, no judgment! I'm feeling a little sheepish about sharing this, but it's all in the name of education. And as many of you know, I don't bother wearing makeup to work anyway.

What you're seeing in this video is my own Plasma Pen treatment approximately two days after treatment. The tiny brown dots are called carbon crusts and are a normal part of the healing process.

So what is Plasma Pen Fibroblast Therapy?

Plasma Pen is a non-surgical skin tightening treatment used to improve skin laxity, fine lines, wrinkles, crepey skin, acne scars, stretch marks, and overall skin texture on both the face and body.

Using a specialized device, a small plasma arc is created between the tip of the pen and the skin. The arc never actually touches the skin. Instead, the energy creates tiny, controlled micro-injuries on the skin's surface that trigger the body's natural healing response.

This process stimulates fibroblasts—the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin.

As the skin heals, collagen and elastin production increase, helping improve skin firmness, elasticity, texture, and overall skin quality.

Plasma Pen can be used on many areas of the face and body, including fine lines, wrinkles, crepey skin, acne scars, stretch marks, upper and lower eyelids, lip lines, neck lines, and areas of skin laxity.

✨ DOWNTIME

Most clients experience redness, swelling, and carbon crust formation during the first few days after treatment.

Carbon crusts typically begin flaking around Day 3, and most clients complete the visible healing process within approximately 7–10 days.

Proper aftercare and sun protection are essential throughout the healing process.

✨ RESULTS

While some tightening may be noticeable early on, the real results develop over time as collagen and elastin continue to remodel.

Most collagen remodeling occurs over approximately 12 weeks, with improvements in skin firmness, texture, elasticity, and overall skin quality continuing throughout that process.

Most clients require 1–3 treatments, although some may require additional sessions depending on the severity of the concern being treated. Treatments are typically spaced 12 weeks apart to allow for complete collagen remodeling before reassessing the area.

One thing I've always believed is that I shouldn't recommend treatments to my clients that I'm not willing to do myself.

I believe experiencing the treatment, the downtime, and the healing process firsthand allows me to better educate my clients, set realistic expectations, and confidently stand behind the services I offer.

People will judge the glow-up.
They’ll judge the Botox, the filler, the lasers, the gym, the skincare, the surgery…

But they’ll also judge you for doing NOTHING at all.

So stop living for everyone else’s opinion.

If something helps you feel more confident, more feminine, more healthy, more like YOU — that’s your choice, not theirs.

The aesthetic world isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s about finally feeling aligned with the version of yourself you’ve always seen inside. ✨

Your skin doesn’t just react to products… it reacts to your lifestyle, stress levels, sleep, hormones, and inflammation too.

Chronic stress increases cortisol levels, which can directly impact your skin barrier, collagen production, oil production, and healing response. That’s why stress often shows up as:

• Breakouts
• Puffiness & inflammation
• Dull, tired skin
• Increased fine lines
• Slower healing & barrier damage

Healthy skin is never just about one cream or one treatment. It’s about supporting the skin internally and externally.

Along with professional skincare treatments, certain supplements may also help support the body’s stress response and overall skin health, including:

✨ Magnesium Glycinate
✨ Omega-3 Fish Oil
✨ L-Theanine
✨ Ashwagandha
✨ Stress-supportive sleep & recovery habits

At Belle Phases Aesthetics By Rhiana, we focus on treatments that help restore skin health while supporting collagen, hydration, inflammation control, and overall skin function.

Some of our favorite stress-supportive treatments include:
✨ Hydrating facials
✨ LED Light Therapy
✨ BioRePeel
✨ Microneedling
✨ Barrier repair protocols
✨ Customized skincare regimens

Because stressed skin deserves support too.

Have you ever wondered what IPL can actually do for your skin? ✨

These before & after photos show this client after just TWO IPL sessions — and she still has 2 more sessions to go.

We focused on:• Sun damage• Uneven pigmentation• Redness & vascular discoloration• Overall skin rejuvenation

You can already see improvement in skin tone, clarity, and overall brightness throughout the treated areas.

IPL is not an overnight fix — it’s progressive correction that builds over a series of treatments. That’s why consistency matters, especially when treating years of accumulated sun damage and vascular changes.
