rsing: We excel at high end nursing, dementia, and hospice care. Our supervising nurse has 35+ years experience. We have an aide-to-resident-ratio of about 1:9 days, 1:18 nights. Cozy: Our home has about 36 residents. We provide full services, with easy all-inclusive pricing. Rooms come furnished and decorated. We feel like a real warm home, not like a cold hotel. Loyal: We personalize care and recreation. We fill our home with loving staff and volunteers. Residents get up to $4k+ monthly in CT&VA aid. Since 2016, we only lost 3 residents to money. Unique: The owner is a Marine Iraq veteran with a Harvard PhD. Both his grandmothers lived at Shady Oaks. He lives next door. Residents and families have come to us from 62+ CT towns. COVID-19: We kept all our residents COVID safe through to the vaccine. In spring 2020, we bubbled up for almost 10 weeks. We now do frequent testing, wear KN95s, and use 75 air purifiers. Since July, we have maintained 20-30 family visits per week. Survey: Each year, we send anonymous surveys to the families of current and recent residents. Counting all 94 replies during the past three years, we average 4.9/5 overall. Many replies had nice notes of gratitude. Here is one: “Shady Oaks is a Bristol Treasure."
