Robert Anthony Moren

Robert "Rob" Moren, age 74, of Bristol, Rhode Island, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

Born on August 20, 1952, Rob was the son of the late Richard and Dorothy Moren. He leaves behind his brother, Ric Moren, and his sister-in-law, Vicki Moren.

Rob spent the majority of his career working as a dedicated waiter at several high-end restaurants, where his professionalism and sharp mind excelled. He was a man who cared deeply for his friends and family, always showing his love and support on his own terms. Rob will be long remembered for his quick wit, sharp intellect, and an unforgettable pranksome spirit that brought laughter to those around him.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation and service on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Sansone Funeral Home, located at 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI. A prayer service will be conducted at 3:30.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to either HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care or the Friends of the Bristol Animal Shelter.

Carmine J. Puniello

Carmine J. Puniello passed away on October 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Bernadette (Casey) Puniello to whom he was married for fifty-four years. Born in Providence, RI on May 14, 1942, Carmine was the son of the late Dominick and Philomena (Cupolo) Puniello. Carmine was a graduate of C**t Memorial High School (Class of 1959), and he attended the University of Rhode Island's School of Mechanical Engineering (Class of 1963). Carmine designed his home in Bristol, RI, where he and Bernadette raised their six children, and where he lived for over sixty years.

He was a member of the Bristol Planning Board for twenty-five years serving fifteen of those years as Chairman. Carmine was an avid sports enthusiast, and a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and the New England Patriots. He managed teams in both the King Philip boys' baseball and girls' softball leagues, from T-ball through senior leagues. His senior league boys' all-star team and minor league all-star team both won the Rhode Island state championships.

Carmine co-owned Arden Engineering Constructors, one of the largest mechanical contractors in New England, with Robert Bolton and his son, Robert. Joining the firm in the early 1960s, his engineering expertise, steady leadership, and vision helped drive Arden's growth. He served on many national committees for the Mechanical Contractors Association. He was a member of the Roger Williams University's School of Engineering's Advisory Committee, a member of the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training's Training Division of Professional Regulation, and one of the founders of the Tomorrow Fund at Rhode Island Hospital.

Carmine took deep pride in his Italian heritage. He researched his ancestry and wrote volumes about his family's heritage and memories. He was an artist, designer, photographer, gardener, loved music, and played the saxophone. He and his wife were avid travelers and traveled the world. They particularly loved their annual trip to Aruba and were recognized as Goodwill Ambassadors in 2019.

A devoted father and cherished grandfather, Carmine's greatest joy was ensuring his family was always loved and cared for, whether it be lending a listening ear, offering words of encouragement or a satisfied appetite. He loved hosting family and friends at the family beach house in Warren, RI.

He is survived by his loving children: Ann M. Leary and her husband William of Bristol, RI (and their children, Matthew (Brianna), Emma, Meaghan, and Ethan; Beth M. Machado and her husband Michael of Barrington, RI (and their children Casey, Kyle (Clara), Ryan, and Timothy); Carmen M. Puniello of Bristol, RI; Dominick B. Puniello and his wife Anabell of Swansea, MA (and their children Carmine and Abigail); John A. Puniello and his wife Kerry of Bristol, RI; and Jennifer A. Puniello and her wife Jennifer of Middleborough, MA (and their children Josephine, Francis, and Nevina) and his great grandchildren: Eli Bobb and Grady Bobb. Carmine is also survived by his brother Anthony and his wife Francoise of Highland Park, NJ.

All are warmly welcome to attend Visitation on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol.

The Funeral will be held from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 141 Wood Street, Bristol.

Arline R. Vittoria

Arline R. (Chamberlain) Vittoria, R.N., Retired, 92, of Bristol, RI, passed away at Newport Hospital in Newport, RI on October 6, 2026. She was the wife of the late John F. Vittoria.

Born and educated in Pawtucket, RI, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Anna (Matuszak) Chamberlain. She was a 1954 graduate of the former Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Pawtucket and was a member of the hospital's alumni association.

Mrs. Vittoria served on the staff of many hospitals in the country as she traveled with her husband during his active-duty Navy years. In addition to the years she was employed by the former Memorial Hospital, she also worked at Newport Hospital, Washington Hospital in Washington, PA, Children's Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital both in San Diego, CA.

She retired in 1994 after 16 years at the former Metacom Manor in Bristol, having served as the assistant director of nursing for her last four years.

Mrs. Vittoria was a member of the Memorial Hospital Nurses Alumni Association and a longtime volunteer for the King Philip Little League where she was instrumental in the founding of the Women's Auxiliary.

In earlier years, she was active in the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. An ardent sports fan, the Washington Redskins were special to her. Retirement years brought the time she most enjoyed- creating memories with family and developing her interest in fantasy football having twice won her fantasy league championship.

She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Bristol.

She was the mother of J. Michael Vittoria, Esquire, and his wife, Anne Marie Vittoria, of Bristol, RI; Joyce Garfield, RN and her husband, Donald Garfield, of Brookfield, MA; Celeste Amos and her husband, the late Carl Amos, of Fernandina Beach, Florida and Christopher R. Vittoria and his wife, Barbara Vittoria, of Warren, RI; grandmother of 11 Grandchildren: Jessica (Garfield) Blake and her husband, Erik; Justin Garfield and his wife, Cayla; Andrew M. Vittoria and his wife, Erin; Melissa Wilson, NP and her husband, Dustin; MaryAnne Menton, PharmD, RPh and her husband, Gregory; Matthew Vittoria and his wife, Christina; Lauren Amos; Robert Vittoria; Sara de K**k and her husband Nic; Christina Vittoria and Daniel Vittoria; great grandmother of 13 Great Grandchildren: Henry Blake, Miles Blake, Sarah Menton, Michael Menton, Elizabeth Menton, Alexandria Vittoria, Ayvalynne Garfield, Desmond Garfield, Adeline Vittoria, Hadrian Vittoria, Cecilia Vittoria, Eloise Vittoria, Ronin de K**k; her sister: Patricia (Chamberlain) Bonjorno of Bristol, RI and several extended family members and dear friends.

At her request, visitation has been respectfully omitted.

Family and friends are warmly welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol, RI.

At Sansone Funeral Home, we believe a meaningful tribute should reflect the life and passions of the person being remembered.

It was our honor to create a personalized tribute for Michael A. Soucy, incorporating two things that brought him great joy throughout his life—time spent by the ocean and his love of woodworking.

These special touches helped create a setting that was uniquely Michael and offered family and friends a meaningful way to remember the things he loved most.

We are grateful to Michael’s family for allowing us the privilege of honoring his life in such a personal way.

The Sansone Funeral Home extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Bristol Fire Department for the meaningful tribute honoring Stephen M. Viera, a lifelong friend of the department and son of the late Mary E. Viera, who passed away on September 14, 2026.

The tribute, held during services at Sansone Funeral Home on Friday, October 2, was a touching expression of respect for Stephen in memory of his mother and his longstanding connection to the Bristol Fire Department. We are grateful to the department for helping honor her life in such a special way.

Luis M. Azevedo

Luis M. Azevedo, 79, of Barrington, RI, a former Bristol, RI resident, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on September 30, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Margarida (Silva) Azevedo.

Born in San Miguel, Portugal on March 1, 1947, he was a son of Manuel and Maria Azevedo. He was raised and educated in his native country of Portugal and resided there until immigrating to the United States.

In Portugal, Mr. Azevedo was a professional futball player, was a champion ping pong player and was a member of a roller hockey team.

He was a veteran of the Portuguese Army.

As a professional machinist and boat builder, Mr. Azevedo was employed by various companies including Dyer Boats and Carol Marine prior to his retirement many years ago.

Mr. Azevedo had been a resident of Barrington since 1977 having moved to the community from Bristol.

He treasured the times spent fishing, boating, "tinkering" around his home but mostly cherished the times spent with his four grandsons creating lifelong memories to cherish.

Mr. Azevedo was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church, Bristol.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons: Luis M. Azevedo and his wife, Heather (Lass) Azevedo, of Riverside, RI and Frank Azevedo and his wife, Stacey (Couitt) Azevedo, of Barrington, RI; his four grandsons: Tyler Azevedo, Andrew Azevedo, Nathan Azevedo and Matthew Azevedo; his siblings: Fernanda Vieira, Jamie Azevedo, Oliver Azevedo, Alvaro Azevedo, Manuela DeMelo and Rosa Farizo; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

He was the brother of the late Sofia Silva, Artur Azevedo, Lillian Bergantim and Teresa Rodrigues.

Michael Armand Soucy

Michael Armand Soucy, age 77, of Bristol, RI, passed away surrounded by his family on September 21, 2026, after a hard-fought battle against Glioblastoma Brain Cancer and Alzheimers disease.

Mike grew up in Lynn MA, and was drafted into the Army in 1969. He was honorably discharged in 1971 and returned to Lynn to meet the love of his life, Sandra. He moved his family to Danvers MA in 1989 where he and Sandy raised their two children until retirement. They relocated to Bristol RI in 2018 and thoroughly enjoyed retirement.

After his time as a Drill Instructor for the Army, he spent many years as a self-employed electrician and general do-it-all. He spent the rest of his career at OSRAM Sylvania, working a majority of the time in an electrical laboratory in the Beverly MA plant. Along with being a licensed electrician, Mike graduated from North Shore Community College with an associates degree in engineering technology while raising his young family.

Mike was a man always on the go and enjoyed many things. When his children were younger, he coached every team he could. He dedicated a lot of time volunteering with the Danvers Youth Soccer program, taking on any role needed. He had a passion for photography that included his children's high school sports; hiding in the bushes during a golf match for the perfect shot, or getting special privileges to roam the soccer field for action shots. Later he transitioned to "fishing" in his kayak, often with just his camera. He loved woodworking and being creative in general. He built a boat, artistic wooden pictures, kids toys, and brought any home improvement idea him and Sandy had to live in his workshop. He loved boating, whether it was fishing, sailing, or just cruising out on the water. In retirement his passions included digging quahogs, riding his bike, learning to golf, making jewelry from seashells and glass, and celebrating happy hour, but most importantly, being surrounded by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandy, his two favorite children Kate Tartamella and Kurt Soucy, both of their spouses, and the three best granddaughters a Papa could ask for. He is also survived by his extended family and incredible friends that have become family.

A remembrance of his life will be held at Sansone Funeral Home at 192 Wood St, Bristol RI on October 3, 2026, from 12 P.M. to 2 P.M.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Brown University Health giving portal. Manuel A.P. de Matos

Manuel A. P. de Matos, 81, of Tiverton, RI, a former longtime resident of Bristol, RI, passed away on September 15, 2026, at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River, MA after a sudden illness. He was the beloved husband of Janet E. (Rego) de Matos.

Born in Faial, Portugal on January 30, 1945, he was a son of the late Thomas da Rosa and Conceicao (Silvera) da Rosa.

He was employed as a factory worker for Jade Engineering and Plastics for many years prior to his retirement.

Mr. de Matos was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church, Bristol.

A lifelong Bristol sports enthusiast, he was a former member of the Lincoln Club, St. Christo Club and the Banda Filermonica de Isabel

His most treasured memories were those spent with his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren creating lifelong memories for all to cherish.

He had a love for the ocean, Portuguese food, and treasured his many friendships including the men of the "Saturday Crew".

Forever dedicated to his family, he would often visit his sister, Maria, who currently resides in a nursing home.

With fondness, the family recalls Manny's standing bakery orders every Sunday at the local bakery and then his deliveries to family members' homes with the baked goods.

In addition to his cherished wife, he leaves his daughter: Diane Lusignan and her husband, James Lusignan, of Tiverton, RI; his grandchildren: Megan Nappi and her husband, Blake Nappi, of Riverside, RI and Benjamin Lusignan and his wife, Shana Lusignan, of Middletown, RI; two great grandchildren: Ellery and Emelia Nappi, the sparkle of his eye, of Riverside, RI; his siblings: Lenny da Rosa and his wife, Linda da Rosa, of Swansea, MA; Joseph da Rosa and his wife, Mary da Rosa, in Maine; and Maria Medeiros, and her husband, Arturo Medeiros, of Warren, RI; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Susan and Louis Cirillo of Bristol, RI; two brothers-in-law: Joseph Rego and Charles Rego both in Texas and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

All are warmly welcome to attend Visitation on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI.
