Today's Wellness Wednesday we're highlighting a supplement for a condition that was recently renamed and affects 1 in 8 women globally. 🌿💊

Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (formerly known as Polycystic O***y Syndrome or PCOS) is a hormonal and metabolic disorder that occurs when the ovaries produce higher than usual levels of androgens (male hormones). Common symptoms include irregular menstrual cycles, excess hair growth, weight gain or difficulty losing weight, and infertility issues.

It's been awhile, but we're back for another Wellness Wednesday! 🌿💊💚

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an antioxidant naturally produced in the body. Cells in the body use CoQ10 for growth and to make energy. As you age, CoQ10 levels get lower. People with heart disease or those who take medicines to lower cholesterol may have lower levels. Certain foods have CoQ10, but not usually enough to raise one's levels, which is where a supplement may come in handy!

Research shows CoQ10 may be beneficial for:
👉 Improving congestive heart failure symptoms, lowering blood pressure, and helping the recovery process after bypass and heart valve surgeries.

For the last few months, our pharmacy and pharmacies across the country have been having an increasingly harder time getting estrogen patches. It is believed higher demand, supply chain issues, and manufacturing limitations are what's causing the shortage of estrogen patches, and it's unknown when things will get back to normal. Some sources say potentially years.

For those that rely on estrogen patches, we understand how frustrating not being able to get your prescription is. Our patients' healthcare needs are the most important thing to us at Wagner Drug, which is why we work with you and your prescriber to identify a possible alternative when we experience shortages like this.
One alternative our pharmacy can provide that others may not is we have a compounding team at our Eagle Grove location that can make estrogen cream, an alternative to the patch.

If you use estrogen patches, call us to discuss how we can help when we are not able to fill your prescription for patches.
