Barbara June Petrella

Barbara June Petrella, age 80, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Barbara was born on March 22, 1946, in Visalia, California, to Arlie Landford Coulson and Minnie Lou (Johnston) Coulson. She attended Redwood High School in Visalia, California before beginning a successful career in retail management. Barbara served as a Planogram Manager for Target for more than 20 years, where she was known for her dedication, attention to detail, and strong work ethic.

On August 8, 1983, Barbara married the love of her life, Alexander "Al" Petrella. Together they shared 42 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures.

Barbara's greatest joy was her family. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed traveling with Al, creating lasting memories together wherever life took them. Barbara also enjoyed watching television and treasured the simple moments spent at home surrounded by those she loved.

She is survived by her husband, Alexander "Al" Petrella; her daughter, Shelly Foster; her grandchildren, Alex Foster and husband Austin and Michael Foster; her great-grandchildren, Hunter Lewis and Sarinity Lewis; her siblings, Lynda Coulson, Laura Wells and husband Don, Sharon Dias, Chuck Coulson and wife Grace, Terri Bobo and husband Kerry, and Christine Cade and husband William; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Arlie Landford and Minnie Lou Coulson, and her sister, Betty Faye Brooks.

Barbara will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering devotion to her family, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. She found happiness in life's simple blessings, and her legacy of love, compassion, and quiet strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Brown’s Funeral Service in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Services celebrating Barbara's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Nickole Lynn Smith, age 46, resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Nickole was born on January 22, 1980, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Kenny Don Smith and Deborah Ann (Robisch) Smith. She graduated from Emmanuel Christian School in Tulsa with the Class of 1998.

Nickole worked as a dispatcher for a taxi cab service, but those who knew her best will remember her for the kindness she showed to others. She had a caring heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and even strangers. She loved spending time at the lake, cooking and sharing meals, drawing, and making memories with those she loved. Her generous spirit, warm smile, and compassionate nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She is survived by her parents, Kenny and Deb Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her maternal grandmother, Phyllis Robisch of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her brother, Kaleb Smith and wife Lindsey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Stanley Robisch; her paternal grandparents, Dean and Faye Smith; and her uncle, Stanley Michael Robisch.

Nickole's family will forever remember her loving heart, her willingness to help anyone in need, and the joy she found in life's simple moments. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Brown's Funeral Service in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at South Heights Cemetery in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, with Pastor Mike Harris officiating.

Today, we celebrate the freedoms we cherish, the courage of those who have defended our nation, and the blessings of spending time with those we love most.

As fireworks light the sky and families gather together, we pause to remember the men and women whose sacrifice made these moments possible.

Today, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering determination of the brave men who stormed the beaches of Normandy 82 years ago.

Many knew they might never return home, yet they pressed forward so future generations could live in freedom.

As we reflect on their sacrifice, we honor all who served and especially those who gave their lives on that historic day. Their courage helped change the course of history and preserve the freedoms we enjoy today.

Matthew Scott Spurgeon

Matthew Scott Spurgeon, 28, of Esparto, California and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on May 12, 2026.

Matthew was born on June 4, 1997, in Yuba City, California, to Scott Spurgeon and Heather Walker Spurgeon.

Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Scott Spurgeon, and his younger brother, Samuel Spurgeon.

He is survived by his fiancé, Katie Muller, and their beloved daughter, Phoebe Spurgeon; his mother, Heather Walker Spurgeon; his grandparents, Bill and Jacklyn Walker of Yuba City, California; and the Muller family of Esparto, California: Bill, Julie, Megan, Matthew (Ashleigh), Brittani, Molly (Zach), and Megan.

Matthew proudly served his country in the United States Army as a member of the 10th Mountain Division stationed at Fort Drum, New York. He was known for his love of cooking and barbequing, his enjoyment of fishing, and most of all for the time he cherished with the loves of his life, Phoebe and Katie.

Matthew will be remembered for his kind heart, his dedication to his family, and the joy he brought to those who knew and loved him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Services will be held at Brown’s Funeral Service, 231 E. Commercial Street, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
