Still dealing with pain after seeing multiple providers? You’re not alone.

A lot of active women come to Breathe In Motion in Mequon and Brookfield after trying rest, modifications, or short PT visits that never fully solve the issue. The problem usually is not a lack of effort. It is a missing plan.

We take a full-body, root cause approach to physical therapy. That means looking at how you move, where you compensate, and what your body actually needs to handle your workouts, running, lifting, or daily activity.

Our goal is not just to get you out of pain. It is to build a body that can handle more so the same issue does not keep coming back.

If you are tired of temporary fixes and want a plan built around you, we are here to help.

A lot of runners🏃🏽‍♀️ have been taught to fear pain, impact, and “bad form.”

But running injuries are rarely caused by one single thing.

Often, it’s a mismatch between what your body is being asked to do and what it’s prepared for💪🏼

Instead of chasing perfect mechanics, focus on:
🔵 progressive loading
🔵 strength training
🔵 recovery
🔵 fueling

The goal isn’t to run perfectly. The goal is to build a resilient body that can keep running for life🙌🏼

Preparing for birth goes far beyond “just waiting for labor.”

At Breathe in Motion, we typically recommend a pelvic floor assessment around 32 weeks to help your body prepare for the physical demands of delivery.

Birth requires coordination.
Your pelvic floor needs to know how to relax.
Your breath needs to work with your core.
And pushing effectively is something that can be practiced and coached.

A prenatal pelvic floor assessment can help you:
• Improve breath and pelvic floor coordination
• Learn how to push more effectively
• Build confidence before delivery
• Reduce fear and uncertainty around labor
• Prepare your body for birth and postpartum recovery

A lot of people focus only on “strength” during pregnancy. But the ability to let go, coordinate, and move well matters just as much.

If you’re pregnant and looking for pelvic floor physical therapy in Brookfield or Mequon, our team specializes in helping active women prepare for birth, recover postpartum, and feel stronger through every stage of motherhood.

We’re changing the narrative that pain is ‘normal’ in gymnastics🤸🏽‍♀️

Female athletes deserve proactive care, education, and support through every stage of development — not just treatment after injury.

Performance and longevity should coexist. 💜

Forcing oversplits doesn’t make you better.

It just makes you more likely to get stuck or injured.

Oversplits require:
-strength
-control
-and stability at end range

Not just more stretching.

At Breathe In Motion Physical Therapy, we help dancers in Brookfield, Mequon, and Ozaukee County earn their flexibility so it actually shows up in performance.

No more forcing it.
Build it the right way.

You were told it’s normal. It’s not.

Leaking, pressure, pain with workouts—those are signs something isn’t working well.

And the worst part? Most women are just told to “do more Kegels” and hope it goes away.

At Breathe In Motion, we actually assess:
✔️ Core + pelvic coordination
✔️ Pressure management
✔️ Strength + return to impact

So you can run, lift, and train without second-guessing your body.

If you’ve:
– had a baby (recent or years ago)
– stopped workouts because of symptoms
– been told “this is just how it is”

👉 It doesn’t have to be.

Dance culture has normalized pain.

“Push through it.”
“It’s just part of it.”
“Everyone feels that.”

But here’s the truth:
Most injuries don’t start big.

They start small… and get ignored.

Until:
– you’re pulled from rehearsal
– you can’t perform full out
– or you’re forced to take time off

At Breathe In Motion, we help dancers:
✔️ catch issues early
✔️ fix root causes
✔️ stay performing consistently

Because the goal isn’t just to dance— It’s to keep dancing.

Performance doesn’t improve when care is disconnected.

At Breathe In Motion in Brookfield and Mequon, we work directly with coaches, gyms, and trainers so rehab and training actually align. No more bouncing between providers with no communication or clear plan. Just a collaborative approach that helps athletes recover faster, stay consistent, and perform at a higher level.

This is how we support female athletes and active adults across Wisconsin. From injury recovery to long term performance, everything works together for the long game.

If you’re a coach, gym, or part of an active community, we’d love to connect and build something stronger together.
