On June 4, we recognize an important milestone in the fight for women’s voting rights. In honor of this occasion, our residents enjoyed an educational program about the women’s suffrage movement and the courageous women who rallied, advocated, and worked tirelessly to secure the right to vote. Their determination helped shape our democracy and continues to inspire generations today. We enjoyed reflecting on this remarkable chapter in history and celebrating the power of civic engagement. 💜🗳️

This afternoon we were delighted to welcome Judy Hehr for the second part of her presentation on Leadership Legacy. We are grateful for this inspiring program and for the opportunity to continue learning and growing together.

This Memorial Day, our Fallen Soldier Table is displayed at the main entrance of Congregational Home as a heartfelt tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Each element carries deep meaning:
🇺🇸 A small, round table symbolizes our everlasting concern.
🌹A single red rose honors the life of the fallen.
🎗️A red ribbon represents our continued commitment to remember and seek those still missing.
🍋A slice of lemon reflects the bitter fate of those who did not return.
🧂A pinch of salt reminds us of the tears of their loved ones.
🍷An inverted glass signifies their absence at our table.
🪑An empty chair stands for those no longer with us.
🕯️Lighted Candle reflects hope for their return, alive or deceased.
📖Bible represents the strength gained through faith to sustain the nation and those lost.

Happy National Nursing Home Week!! This year’s theme, “Moments in Bloom,” brought so much joy to our community. Our residents stayed busy creating beautiful potted flowers, enjoying live music and a festive party, writing positive messages, and celebrating together with a special lunch for our wonderful staff.

We are so grateful to our dedicated staff and amazing residents for making our Congo Home such a special place to be. Thank you for helping our community bloom with kindness, caring, and love every day! 🌸

The other day, a Congo crew successfully relocated Mama Mallard and her 14 ducklings from the enclosed chapel courtyard to open grounds so Mama could lead her babies to water.
