Another great perspective…

Navigating Depression in Grief

We extend our deepest compassion to you during this heavy-hearted time of loss. Losing a loved one can plunge us into a deep sense of sadness and despair, which is a natural part of the grieving process.

Depression in grief may manifest as feelings of emptiness, hopelessness, or a loss of interest in life. It's essential to recognize and address these emotions with compassion and self-care. Some days we thrive and some days we just survive. Both are a victory.

One action item you can consider is establishing a daily routine that includes activities that bring you comfort and joy, even if in small doses. It may be challenging to bring yourself to do these activities, but if you start out simple and commit to starting with just one a day, it can become easier.

Reflection Moment: Take a moment to reflect on your feelings in grief. Ask yourself: What are the specific emotions and thoughts I'm experiencing? How do they affect my daily life and relationships? Allow yourself to acknowledge these feelings without judgment, and consider reaching out for support from loved ones or a professional.
Remember, you're not alone in your journey of grief, and it's okay to seek help when needed.

With warmth and understanding.

James "Jimbo" L. Clark, II

With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of a devoted father, proud grandfather, cherished great-grandfather, veteran, and hardworking provider whose love and dedication shaped generations of family. James Lawrence Clark II, born to James and Regina Clark, on October 27, 1948, and parted life peacefully on May 25, 2026.

James L. Clark II was a proud Vietnam veteran who served his country with honor and courage. Before his years of service and hard work, he was known as a talented high school athlete at Brookfield High School whose determination and competitive spirit reflected the character he carried throughout his life.

Above all else, James was a family man. He was the loving father of four children, the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren, and the joyful great-grandfather of one. His family was his greatest accomplishment and the center of his world. Through every challenge and triumph, he worked tirelessly to ensure those he loved were cared for, supported, and provided for.

Known for his strong work ethic, resilience, and unwavering commitment to his family, James spent his life putting others before himself as a football coach, baseball coach, and supporter of his children in their athletics, as well as grandchildren’s endeavors. He taught those around him the value of hard work, loyalty, sacrifice, and perseverance. His strength and dependable nature were constants his family could always rely upon.

He will be remembered not only for the life he built, but for the love he gave so freely. Whether sharing stories, offering advice, or simply being present, he left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Though he will be deeply missed, by his wife of 56 years, Patricia (Reichart) Clark, his legacy lives on through his children, Patty (Ron) Leksell, Jim (Michelle) Clark, Julie Clark, and Megan (Shawn) Mishata; grandchildren, Lucas, Maya, Hannah, Emily, Paul, Nate, Amanda, Zoee, Sara, and Zain; granddaughters-in-law, Rosa and Brooke; and great-grandchild, Amina Rose-Marie Stinson; siblings, Timmy and Randy Clark; and all whose lives he touched. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

James was met at the heavenly gates by his mother, Regina; father, James; and siblings, Colleen, Danny, Paul, Candace, Debbie, Jackie, and Nellie; and a host of other family members and friends.

The family would like to extend the warmest regards to Andover Village Skilled Care D-Wing, for their exceptional care of our father during his two year stay with them. They went above and beyond to support our family and gave exceptional care to our father. Anyone who would like to make a monetary donation, please send to the Andover Village Skilled Care activity fund: 486 South Main Street, Andover, Ohio 44003.
