Movement Builds Brains.

According to the 2024 U.S. Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youth, only about 20–28% of children meet the recommended 60 minutes of daily physical activity.

That means roughly 3 out of 4 kids aren’t moving enough each day.

This isn’t just about fitness.

Movement is one of the primary drivers of brain development. Physical activity increases blood flow, supports neuroplasticity, improves executive function, enhances attention, and helps regulate mood and behavior.

When kids move, the brain receives the stimulation it needs to grow, adapt, and learn.

When movement decreases, opportunities for brain development decrease too.

As parents, educators, and healthcare providers, one of the most powerful things we can do for the developing brain is encourage movement every single day.

Small steps today.

Too little stimulation creates no adaptation.
Too much creates a threat response.

The nervous system changes best under manageable challenge:
→ Stability before complexity
→ Regulation before performance
→ Small wins before overload

The goal isn’t perfection — it’s building a more adaptable brain and nervous system over time.
