I am pleased to introduce Michelle Lovelle, a thoughtful new Graduate student who will be seeing clients in our practice. After learning about her, we think you’ll understand why we're excited to have her on the wellness team.
Who is she?
Michelle was born in Mount Vernon and raised in Hempstead, a working‑class black community on Long Island. She has family roots in the Caribbean, but has always called New York home.
Her therapeutic superpower
She blends a nuanced perspective and mindful awareness development as her approach. Her superpower is the ability to gently reframe a challenge. She helps clients build their self‑compassion and resilience.
What she is passionate about
Michelle is passionate about bringing mental health care to marginalized communities that have been underserved or unable to reap its true benefits.
She believes in: the healing power of transformative dialogue to face heavy emotions, inspire growth, and usher in true harmony.
She values: deep connection, especially restorative practices and group support.
Why she became a therapist
She spent her early years working through a difficult upbringing - reading, meditating, praying, writing poetry, and earning a psychology degree from Brown. She worked to understand her past, how it impacted her, and what was necessary to overcome it.
Along the way, she helped others. First friends and loved ones, and later as an HR advocate and life coach. Now as a graduate student she believes she is doing what she was made to do: Help people navigate the challenges in their life in a safe space, as they go after what they've always dreamed of.
We believe Michelle will be a wonderful fit for many of you. If you are looking for a therapist who brings warmth, understanding, and a talent for turning a challenge inside out.
We encourage you to schedule a therapy session to navigate the challenging issues you are facing. We’re here to provide guidance and support as you navigate towards your goals.
