We meet again in Late Summer — a season ruled by the Earth element and the organs of the Spleen and Stomach.
•
This time of year often brings more dampness and heaviness, humidity and lingering heat — both inside and out. We may feel this through digestive changes: looser stools, sluggish digestion, bloating, or simply a sense of heaviness and fatigue. Movement can feel slower, and motivation a little harder to come by.
•
To bring ourselves back into balance, we can begin to shift our movement practices, introducing a little more yin and restorative work. Think walking rather than running, easing up on hot yoga, and, of course, swimming whenever possible.
•
Late Summer is a lovely invitation to slow down, nourish ourselves well, and find a little more steadiness before we move into Fall.
