is your body doing jobs it wasn’t hired for? 🫣

when we forget to tune in, we start "borrowing movement"—aka compensating.

it's a sneaky habit that leaves us feeling sticky, tight, and sore, but your fascia is so good at hiding it that it's tough to catch.

i'm breaking down how to spot this puzzle piece in today's email, including a quick checklist to test yourself.

we were designed to move, but not all movement is beneficial.

after years of dealing with my own aches and pains, I dove into the research to find out what actually works.

I'm sharing the 'fundamentals of movement' in this week's fascia facts email so you can start moving with more ease.

Did you know there’s so many ways to release your fascial (fash-al) system?!

Cupping is one way - I recently got it done for a sticky shoulder + occasional numbness with Nicole Henry-Holbrook

Cupping adds space to the tissues/fascial system by “lifting” them

The 2 fascial release offerings I focus on add space to the tissues by:

1. “spreading” them (express fascial release)
2. redesigning how we move/use the tissues (movement design)

I’m a big believer in having multiple ways to find comfort in our bodies 💕

What way do you like to release your fascial system?!

if something feels heavier to lift than it used to, we're taught to blame our muscles for not being strong enough.

but our body actually has a built-in sharing system that distributes 40% of muscle force into other areas [spoiler alert, it’s the fascia] 😉

when the fascia gets tight, the sharing stops and we assume we’re weak…but that’s not always the case!

in this week's fascia facts email, I’m explaining how this sharing system works and a 2-minute shift to help your see that the problem isn’t always strength.
