Diogenes Almonte, MD, brings more than 35 years of experience in general family medicine to Prominis Medical Services, serving patients in the Williamsburg office.

Dr. Almonte began his professional education at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Almonte completed an internship at the Army Hospital at Santo Domingo. Dr. Almonte subsequently moved to the United States received his residency training at The Brooklyn Jewish Hospital and Medical Center and at Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital in Mount Vernon, New York. Dr. Almonte also completed a fellowship program in infectious diseases.

As a family physician, Dr. Almonte specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric teenage and adult medical problems. He also offers well-child exams and physicals, vaccinations, immunizations, and preventive medicine and will provide care for children and adults of all ages.

Dr. Almonte holds a license in general medicine and surgery. Dr. Almonte loves spending one-on-one time with his patients and offers attentive, compassionate care. This attention to detail hasn’t gone unnoticed either. Today we are presenting Dr. Somechukwu Onuoha - Internal Medicine.

Dr Onuoha received his medical degree from the University of Nigeria and completed graduate training at the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom. Aside from his medical doctor degree, he earned a Master’s degree in Public Health from Albert Einstein College on an NIH scholarship.

Dr Onuoha’s academic credentials also include several publications in scientific journals addressing various topics in relevant health issues in urban patient populations.

Dr Onouha has been in practice for close to two decades. He specializes in geriatric primary care and therefore has a vast experience in treating complex elderly patients in the office or in their own home as a house call physician.
