📣 An Important Update from The Boaz House
We will be discontinuing our yard sales. We will have a few starting on September 4 and a couple in October - so stay tuned here for those dates. October will be the last sale.
As we continue to grow and prepare for the future, we are making an important change to our donation operations.
We will no longer accept donations of any kind at our 4th Street location.
On July 1, we stepped out in faith and opened our first brick-and-mortar boutique. This has given us the opportunity to move from occasional yard sales into a social enterprise that provides both revenue for our ministry and meaningful work therapy for the women in our program.
We will continue to accept SELECT gently used name-brand clothing, purses, and shoes of value for the boutique. If you have items you would like to donate, please contact us first by texting 713-205-1136. We will arrange a time to meet. When you bring your items, we will go through them with you and determine what we are able to use. We will only accept the items that are a good fit for the boutique.
This change is about so much more than how we sell donated items.
Through our boutique operations, the women in our program are learning real-world skills in customer service, merchandising, inventory, production, sales, teamwork, and entrepreneurship. Even more importantly, when a woman graduates from our program, she can leave with a full year of work experience on her résumé instead of a gap.
That matters when she is rebuilding her life.
We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has donated, shopped our yard sales, volunteered, shared our posts, and supported us along the way. You helped us get here.
Now we are stepping into a new season, and we hope you will continue to walk alongside us as we grow our social enterprise and work therapy program.
