Happy Flag Day! Did you know that the American flag went through multiple iterations? As more states were added to the union, sometimes the stars were arranged in lines of varying lengths, or even in different shapes! It wasn't until 1960 when the current design and arrangement of stars was issued. For example, the 36-star circular pattern shown here was issued in 1877, when Colorado joined the union.
