An Oxygen Mask Moment 🫶🏻

What Felt Hard:
She had learned to believe that having needs could threaten her relationships. So she pushed her needs aside, kept the peace, and tried to be the one who could handle everything.

What We Focused On:
We worked on recognizing that caring for herself wasn't taking something away from the people she loved. Like the oxygen mask reminder on an airplane, she could make room for her own needs, too.

A New Chapter:
She began learning that having needs doesn't make her too much, difficult, or unlovable. Her needs matter, too. 🤍

Taking care of yourself isn't selfish.
It's putting your own oxygen mask on first. ✈️

If you're a mom who is tired of putting yourself last, Raising Humans Without Losing Your Mind is a 6-week therapist-led online support group designed to help you build self-trust, quiet the mental noise, and stop letting anxiety drive the bus.

Starts September 24th. Join the waitlist:

You know that situation where you're already thinking, "Okay...this could be a sh*t show." 😂

Instead of spending all your energy trying to make sure nothing goes wrong, try making a Sh*t Show Bingo card.

Before you go, pick 9 things you can realistically imagine happening:

☑️ Invasive question
☑️ Passive-aggressive compliment
☑️ Weird political comment
☑️ Bathroom emergency
☑️ Sibling fight
☑️ "Are we there yet?"
☑️ Tech issue
☑️ Someone dominates the conversation
☑️ Complaint about literally everything

Now here's the shift:

You're not trying to prevent the chaos.

You're giving yourself permission to expect that things might be imperfect, notice what happens, and find a little humor in it.

And if you get bingo?
You win.

If none of it happens?
You also win. 😂

I made a printable S**t Show Bingo card you can actually use, plus wrote more about why this can help when you're heading into a stressful situation.

The women I work with aren't falling apart on the outside.

They're holding it together so well that nobody realizes how exhausted they are.

They get the kids where they need to be.
They answer the texts.
They make the appointments.
They show up for work.
They remember the snacks.
They smile and say, "I'm fine."

But inside?

Their brain won't shut off.

They're replaying conversations.
Second-guessing decisions.
Googling things at midnight.
Wondering if they're doing enough.

And quietly thinking:
"Why can't I just handle this?"

You don't have to be falling apart for your anxiety to deserve attention.

You don't have to wait until you're completely depleted to ask for support.

You deserve support before you reach your breaking point.

If this sounds familiar, you're not alone.

If this feels familiar, Raising Humans Without Losing Your Mind was created for you. Starting September 24th:

Before you Google it… put your own oxygen mask on first.

When anxiety gets loud, our first instinct can be to find an answer.

Google it.
Research it.
Ask someone.
Check one more time.

But before you reach for your phone, pause and ask:

💧 Have I had water?
🍽️ Have I eaten?
😴 Have I slept?
🌿 Have I stepped outside?
🚶 Have I moved my body?

This isn't about dismissing your concerns or telling yourself that everything is "just anxiety."

It's about checking in with you before asking your brain to solve another problem.

Sometimes the next right step isn't more information.

Sometimes it's a snack, a glass of water, a walk, a nap, or a conversation.

And if you still need an answer afterward? You can figure that out, too.

You don't have to solve everything from an empty tank. 🩵

This is one of the skills we'll explore inside Raising Humans Without Losing Your Mind, a 6-week therapist-led online support group for moms who are ready to step out of the "what if" spiral and build more self-trust.

This theme came up a lot in my office (and my own life) this week.

I know the feeling.
The guilt that shows up when you sit still.
The pressure to be productive.
The voice that says, “I just need to get a few more things done, and then I can take a break.”

And apparently I needed this reminder too.

I felt rundown this week, and actually listened to my body and rested. But this morning, my brain did the annoying thing and said “ok, cool, you are rested, now we need to make up for it.”

It says - work extra today, be more productive, make up for the time you ‘lost’ by resting.

Well, f**k that noise. Rest is not a loan I have to pay back with interest. I don’t have to cram extra productivity into today to justify taking care of myself yesterday.

And neither do you.

So maybe that’s this weekends reminder: You don’t have to earn rest beforehand, and you don’t have to make up for it afterwards. You are allowed to just f**king rest. 💛

I’m going to enjoy my coffee while it’s warm this weekend and encourage you to do the same ☕️

📼 Remember having to rewind a VHS tape?

You could hear the machine working as it slowly dragged the tape back to the beginning.

And if you kept rewinding and replaying the same scene?

You were using more energy just to watch something you'd already seen.

Overthinking can work the same way.
You replay the conversation.
You double-check the decision.
You research one more thing.
You wonder, "What if...?"

And suddenly you're spending hours mentally rewinding something that already happened, or trying to find certainty about something that hasn't.

The replay doesn't usually give you a new answer.
It just leaves you more exhausted.
You don't have to keep running the same tape. 🩵

That's exactly what we'll be working on inside Raising Humans Without Losing Your Mind, a 6-week online therapyist-led group for moms who are ready to step out of the "what if" spiral and start trusting themselves again.

You don’t need more parenting advice. You need to trust the mom you already are.

If motherhood feels like one long loop of googling, replaying and wondering if you’re doing it wrong - this group was made for you.

Starting September 24, I’m running a small, live, 6-week group for Colorado moms who are ready to turn down the mental noise and experience more self-trust.

This isn’t another parenting class. It’s a space to understand your overthinking patterns and learn to respond with more confidence, flexibility, and calm.

Limited to 6-8 moms. Link in bio to join the waitlist.

Worry Brain: Good moms don't need breaks.
🩵 Reality: The moms who care the most often run themselves into the ground.

Often the moms who care the most are the ones running themselves into the ground trying to keep everyone else okay.

Rest doesn't mean you're selfish.
Needing a break doesn't mean you're failing.
You don't have to be completely depleted to deserve care.

You are allowed to pause, breathe, and take care of yourself, too. 🤍

Consider this your message to schedule yourself a break today, tomorrow, or sometime this week.
